Power supplies for coaxial systems

Electrical Engineering, 1949
TYPE “L” BROAD-BAND carrier telephone systems over coaxial cables require repeaters spaced every eight miles or less along the cables. The large number of repeaters involved makes it desirable to transmit 60-cycle power from main and terminal stations to auxiliary repeaters over the same coaxials as used for carrier transmission.

ASDEX UPGRADE POWER SUPPLY SYSTEM

1986
ASDEX Upgrade, the successor to the ASDEX device, is a new tokamak now under construction at Garching [1]. This experiment has a reactor-like divertor with the divertor coils located outside the toroidal field coils. This makes the power and energy requirements high since the total number of ampere-turns of the multipole coils increases approximately ...

Design of Portable Power Supply System

2019
The design of a portable multifunctional charger is presented in this paper. The charger supports two charging modes of 220 V alternating current and 12 V DC. The 12 V lead–acid battery is used to support AC 220 V output, DC 12 and 5 V output. The maximum power point tracking and battery charging curves are controlled to extend the life of the product ...

Aircraft electric power-supply system

Electrical Engineering, 1943
An ever increasing demand for electric power in aircraft has been felt for some time. The necessity of using an electric storage battery started the practice of accompanying it with a d-c generator, first of low current and voltage capacity, later of 50-ampere 12-volt rating, and for the past few years of 200-ampere 24-volt output.

A power supply system control

Nuclear Instruments and Methods, 1971
Abstract A control for a system containing many power supplies is described. If any power supply fails, the whole system is shut off. Other fault sensors (e.g. overtemperature sensors) can be connected to the control easily.

The power supply system of RFX

Fusion Engineering and Design, 1995
Abstract The RFX power supply system is a combination of electrical devices, such as a.c.-d.c. converters, direct current interrupters, large capacitor banks and fast closing switches, whose coordinated operation allows the investigation of plasmas in the reverse field pinch (RFP) configuration. The large electrical power, required for the pulses, is
