A coverage algorithm based on D-S theory for directional sensor networks

open access: yesInternational Journal of Distributed Sensor Networks, 2016
In view of the random deployment of directional sensor nodes, this article establishes the directional probability sensing model and proposes a distributed deployment strategy based on D-S theory, which makes the perceived probability of the target ...

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

A Novel Data Driven Model for Voltage Stability Status Prediction and Instability Mitigation

open access: yesInternational Transactions on Electrical Energy Systems
An intelligent power system is either a system that is smartly designed from zero to 100, or a system that was not smartly designed but currently uses all its facilities to be smartly operated in different sectors. This paper presents a novel data-driven

Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Analytical‐Numerical Hybrid Solution for Transient Thermal Analysis of the Outer Gate IGCT Considering Electrical‐Thermal Coupling

open access: yesIET Power Electronics
The integrated‐gate commutated thyristor (IGCT), known for its low conduction losses and high reliability, is increasingly favoured in high‐voltage and high‐power applications. The junction temperature is a critical determinant of reliability, making the

Aggressive prostate cancer is associated with pericyte dysfunction

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumor‐produced TGF‐β drives pericyte dysfunction in prostate cancer. This dysfunction is characterized by downregulation of some canonical pericyte markers (i.e., DES, CSPG4, and ACTA2) while maintaining the expression of others (i.e., PDGFRB, NOTCH3, and RGS5).

Analysis and Sizing of Power Distribution Architectures Applied to Fuel Cell Based Vehicles

open access: yesEnergies, 2018
The fuel cell based vehicles powertrain is an extensive system that comprises a fuel cell (FC) as the primary energy source, a set of power converters both unidirectional and bidirectional and batteries or supercapacitors as secondary energy sources. Its

Methylation biomarkers can distinguish pleural mesothelioma from healthy pleura and other pleural pathologies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We developed and validated a DNA methylation–based biomarker panel to distinguish pleural mesothelioma from other pleural conditions. Using the IMPRESS technology, we translated this panel into a clinically applicable assay. The resulting two classifier models demonstrated excellent performance, achieving high AUC values and strong diagnostic accuracy.
