MiR‐513a promotes human erythroid differentiation by modulating c‐Jun

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
During early human erythropoiesis, miR‐513a promoted erythroid differentiation in primary human CD34+ hematopoietic stem‐progenitor cells and human TF‐1 erythroleukemic cells by indirectly decreasing c‐Jun and phospho‐c‐Jun expression, which are associated with increased GATA1 expression.

Transformer partial discharge fault diagnosis based on improved adaptive local iterative filtering‐bidirectional long short‐term memory

open access: yesIET Electric Power Applications
Insulation deterioration, which is mainly caused by partial discharge (PD) occurring inside power transformers, is one of the prime reasons to cause transformer faults.

Digital twins to accelerate target identification and drug development for immune‐mediated disorders

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Digital twins integrate patient‐derived molecular and clinical data into personalised computational models that simulate disease mechanisms. They enable rapid identification and validation of therapeutic targets, prediction of drug responses, and prioritisation of candidate interventions.

Rapid screening of staphylokinase protein variants using an unpurified cell‐free expression system

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
An unpurified cell‐free protein synthesis (CFPS) platform enables rapid functional screening of staphylokinase variants. Direct plasminogen‐activation assays performed in microplate format provide real‐time activity readouts, allowing rapid identification and ranking of variants with improved or reduced fibrinolytic activity without protein ...

Low-light image enhancement using generative adversarial networks

open access: yesScientific Reports
In low-light environments, the amount of light captured by the camera sensor is reduced, resulting in lower image brightness. This makes it difficult to recognize or completely lose details in the image, which affects subsequent processing of low-light ...

Low-Carbon and Optimized Dispatching of Regional Integrated Energy Systems, Taking into Account the Uncertainties of Wind–Solar Power and Dynamic Hydrogen Prices

open access: yesEnergies
Integrated energy systems are central to advancing efficient energy utilization and low-carbon transformation. In the current context, the inherent variability of high-penetration renewable sources (e.g., wind and solar) and the volatility of multi ...

Systemic dysregulation of apolipoproteins in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis serum

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a fatal disease that damages motor neurons. This study found that people with ALS show significant changes in blood fats and the proteins that carry them. Several apolipoproteins were higher, lipid balances were altered, and normal protein–lipid relationships were disrupted.

Subsequent commutation failure suppression strategy of hybrid cascaded HVDC system based on coordinated control of CEC and VDCOL

open access: yesIET Energy Systems Integration
The inverter side of hybrid cascaded HVDC adopts the structure of Modular Multilevel Converter (MMC) in series with Line Commutated Converter (LCC). The complete system amalgamates the advantages of LCC with MMC, but it also makes the interaction process

The Impact of the Shunt Reactor(s) Location on Offshore Wind Farm Power Export System on Zero-Missing Phenomenon and Switching Overvoltages—The Case of a Polish Power System

open access: yesEnergies
The observed development of offshore wind farms has resulted in an increasing presence of long extra-high voltage cables, with lengths ranging from 10 to 200 km. These cable lines are compensated for by a shunt reactor(s).
