Comprehensive reliability assessment method for distribution networks considering IIDG low voltage ride-through control

open access: yesInternational Journal of Electrical Power & Energy Systems
Upon the large-scale integration of inverter-interfaced distributed generator (IIDG) into the grid, random faults in the distribution network can lead to momentary and sustained interruptions, significantly impacting system reliability.

Hydrogen‐Assisted Fracture of Iron‐Based Fe–Ni–Al Alloys

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Principal relations and fracture mechanisms of single‐phase and precipitate‐strengthened Fe–Ni–Al alloys subjected to prior electrochemical hydrogen charging are identified. The mechanisms of hydrogen effect on strength and microhardness are discussed, including hydrogen‐induced increase in microhardness and the role of hydrogen in fracture behavior ...

Dynamic reactive power reserve assessment method for hybrid AC/DC networks based on a reduced equivalent model of an LCC‐HVDC converter process

open access: yesIET Renewable Power Generation
LCC‐HVDC technology has been widely applied. Commutation failure is a common disturbance in converter stations. In the absence of an adequate and rapid dynamic reactive power supply, the system is prone to trigger DC blocking.

Creep‐Induced Microstructural Evolution in an A2‐B2 Superalloy

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A 27.3Ta‐27.3Mo‐27.3Ti‐8Cr‐10Al (at.%) refractory high‐entropy alloy with precipitation‐strengthened A2‐B2 microstructure was studied by creep tests at 1030°C, which demonstrate a transition in deformation mechanisms in the range of 100–150 MPa applied stress. This is associated with changes in dislocation–precipitate interactions. Relevant deformation

First Aspect of Conventional Power System Assessment for High Wind Power Plants Penetration [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Most power systems in underdeveloped and developing countries are based on conventional power plants, mainly "slow-response" thermal power plants and a certain number of hydro power plants; characterized by inflexible generating portfolios and ...

Combined use of long short‐term memory neural network and quantum computation for hierarchical forecasting of locational marginal prices

open access: yesEnergy Conversion and Economics
Accurate locational marginal price forecasting (LMPF) is crucial for the efficient allocation of resources. Nevertheless, the sudden changes in LMP make it inadequate for many existing long short‐term memory (LSTM) network‐based prediction models to ...

Optimised Congestion Management Using Curative Measures in Combined AC/DC Systems with Flexible AC Transmission Systems

open access: yesEnergies
Due to the increasing demand for transport of electrical energy, measures for power flow control, congestion management, and higher utilisation of the existing grid play a decisive role in the transformation of the power system.

Creep Properties and Deformation Mechanism of Additively Manufactured NiAl‐CrMo Composites

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Additively manufactured NiAl‐CrMo composites contain numerous interfaces and cell boundaries that control their creep response. At 700°C under high applied stress, creep is dominated by dislocation‐controlled power‐law mechanisms. At 800°C–900°C and lower stresses, creep is primarily diffusion‐controlled along cell boundaries.
