On a new approach for the simulation of transients in power systems

This paper presents a new simulation tool named EMTP-RV. EMTP-RV is a completely new program with a new graphical user interface and a new computational engine. The simulation uses a new matrix formulation for computing load-flow, steady state and time-domain solutions.

This paper describes the Power System Blockset (PSB) from The MathWorks, Natick, MA, which is a new software package for the simulation of electric circuits, power systems, power electronic devices, and electric drives. The PSB is developed in the graphical Simulink environment of the general-purpose Matlab software.
