Power System Restorations — Methods and Model-Simulations
IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 1988Due to the increasing complexity of electrical networks in developing countries as well as decreasing reserve capacity in the networks of industrialized countries, power system restoration is gaining increased interest. As emphasized in the paper, a reduction of the restoration time requires not only theoretical work, but also the installation and ...

DEVELOPMENT OF HIGH PRECISION POWER SYSTEM SIMULATOR
IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 1989Abstract This paper presents a recently developed low-power analog power system simulator with increased operability and precision over conventional simulators. The simulator is composed of miniature models of actual equipment with characteristics as close as possible to those of actual power systems.

Simulation of solar-powered absorption cooling system
Renewable Energy, 2003Abstract With developing technology and the rapid increase in world population, the demand for energy is ever increasing. Conventional energy will not be enough to meet the continuously increasing need for energy in the future. In this case, renewable energy sources will become important.

Simulated annealing in power systems
[Proceedings] 1992 IEEE International Conference on Systems, Man, and Cybernetics, 2003The author addresses the applicability of optimization by the simulated annealing method to the analysis of power systems. The theory of simulated annealing and applications to unit commitment, maintenance scheduling, and reactive power sources planning are presented.

An analog power system simulator
Canadian Electrical Engineering Journal, 1978The general requirements for power system simulation are outlined and the characteristics and uses of existing simulators described. The theoretical operation of an active analog electronic circuit known as an impedance converter is introduced and its use in a novel power system simulator described.

Digital simulation of power systems
Proceedings of IEEE TENCON '98. IEEE Region 10 International Conference on Global Connectivity in Energy, Computer, Communication and Control (Cat. No.98CH36229), 2002This paper outlines the evolution of digital simulation of power systems and describes the present state of the art. This evolution is caused by and closely follows the evolution of the digital computer. Both the speedup of the hardware and the sophistication of the software environment have greatly influenced the digital simulation of power systems ...

Simulation research of CPA powered railgun system
2012 16th International Symposium on Electromagnetic Launch Technology, 2012Compensated pulsed alternator (CPA) is considered one of the most potential pulsed power supplies for electromagnetic railguns, due to its high energy density and power density. In this paper, a co-simulation method of a CPA powered railgun system is proposed. The railgun model was constructed on the Matlab/Simulink platform.

Distributed Parallel Power System Simulation
2013The information technology (IT) world has changed fundamentally and drastically from running software applications on a single computer with a single CPU to now running software as services in distributed and parallel computing environment. Power system operation has been also shifted from being solely based on off-line planning study to more and more ...

Power system stabilizer for the Nigerian power system-design and simulation
1999 IEEE Africon. 5th Africon Conference in Africa (Cat. No.99CH36342), 2003Component failures have been found to constitute a major source of disturbance inputs into the Nigerian power system. Consequently, conventional power system stabilizers may prove inadequate. This paper describes the design of a power system stabilizer where the reliability of critical components is made part of the design criteria.
