Design of Optimal Proportional Integral Derivative Based Power System Stabilizer Using Bat Algorithm

open access: yesApplied Computational Intelligence and Soft Computing, 2016
The design of a proportional, derivative, and integral (PID) based power system stabilizer (PSS) is carried out using the bat algorithm (BA). The design of proposed PID controller is considered with an objective function based on square error ...

Impacts of high penetration of DFIG wind turbines on rotor angle stability of power systems [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
With the integration of wind power into power systems continues to increase, the impact of high penetration of wind power on power system stability becomes a very important issue. This paper investigates the impact of doubly fed induction generator (DFIG)

Photo‐Controlled Antibacterial Drug Release From DASA‐Coated Silica Particles for Improved Treatment of Wound Infections

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Synthesis and characterization of light‐responsive donor–acceptor Stenhouse adducts (DASA)‐coated chlorhexidine‐loaded silica nanoparticles. Such a controllable drug‐delivery system enables the release of the antimicrobial drug on demand and in consecutive cycles, thereby maintaining the concentration within the therapeutic window.

Elucidating the Role of Surface Ligands on the Oxidative Etching of Au Bipyramids During Photothermia Using Liquid Cell Transmission Electron Microscopy

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Gold bipyramids can act as efficient plasmonic nanoheaters, but they often reshape during laser heating. This study shows that oxygen nanobubbles drive oxidative etching and that surface ligands control stability. CTAB‐ and citrate‐coated particles blunt and lose optical performance, whereas polystyrene sulfonate preserves shape and heating by ...

Comparison of power system stabilizer design based on local and global model [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
his paper introduces a localized phase compensation method for the design of power system stabilizers (PSSs) to suppress the oscillation occurred in a single-machine infinite-bus (SMIB) power system.

A Novel Hybrid Approach for Stability Analysis of SMIB using GA and PSO [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Stability exploration has drawn more attention in contemporary research for huge interconnected power system. It is a complex frame to describe the behaviour of system, hence it can create an overhead for modern computer to analyse the power system ...

Interactions between, and effectiveness of, power system stabilizers and FACTS device stabilizers in multimachine systems [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
Copyright © 2000 IEEEIn this paper it is shown that interactions occur between stabilizers in multimachine power systems, the stabilizers being power system stabilizers (PSSs), FACTS device stabilizers (FDSs) or both.

MXene/PEDOT Functional Coatings on Flexible Microelectrode Arrays for Multianalyte In Vivo Neurochemical Sensing and Electrophysiology

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A MXene/PEDOT coating enables multimodal functionality and dual‐analyte detection of dopamine and serotonin in flexible microelectrode arrays while enhancing electrophysiological recording quality. The anti‐fouling, low‐impedance interface overcomes key limitations of conventional coatings, providing a robust and versatile platform to investigate the ...
