Nonlinear Modelling of Power Take Off Systems
OCEANS 2007 - Europe, 2007The motion of a simple inertial wave energy converter (WEC) is studied to find the relative motion between an internal mass and an external body. The power take off (PTO) system is deemed to connect the internal mass to the external body, modelled as a spring and damper in parallel.

What is Expected of Today’s Power Take-Offs
SAE Technical Paper Series, 1965<div class="htmlview paragraph">In view of the increasing varieties of equipment operated by engine power take-offs, it is desirable to have some method of estimating power requirements before purchasing a truck. This paper offers a yardstick by which owners will be able to approximate transmission capability of driving auxiliary equipment.

Power Take-Offs from Transfer Cases
SAE Technical Paper Series, 1969<div class="htmlview paragraph">The chief characteristics of various PTO equipped transfer cases and methods of adapting the PTO output to vehicle auxiliary mechanisms are described. Direct full torque PTO and indirect limited torque PTO are compared in relation to shaft connection and types of bearings, and lubrication. The transfer case PTO can

Paper 17: Power Take-off Systems
Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Conference Proceedings, 1969This paper deals with power take-off systems, but not with design details of the units being driven, or of the take-off mechanisms. Shaft stresses, gear teeth, and bearing selection are covered in existing literature, and handbooks issued by various authorities give the established standards for coupling and aperture dimensions.
