A Fourier Approximation Method for the Multi-Pump Multi-Piston Power Take-Off System [PDF]
In this work, a frequency-domain method for the numerical solution of the nonlinear dynamics of a wave energy converter with a pumping system is presented. To this end, a finite Fourier series is used to describe the nonlinear force components, i.e., the

Structural biology of ferritin nanocages
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...

Structure Strength Analysis for the Box of One Power Take-off
Taking the box of power take-off as the main research object, the box, gear, axis and other three-dimensional entity model are created by using the CAD software UG,and the models are inputted into ANSYS Workbench through the data exchange interface and ...

In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Design, Construction and Testing of a Hydraulic Power Take-Off for Wave Energy Converters
This paper presents the construction, mathematical modeling and testing of a scaled universal hydraulic Power Take-Off (PTO) device for Wave Energy Converters (WECs). A specific prototype and test bench were designed and built to carry out the tests. The

On the use of secondary rotors for vertical axis wind turbine power take‐off
This work introduces and explores the use of secondary rotors for vertical axis wind turbine power take‐off. A parametric framework based on optimally designed secondary rotors is developed which calculates the maximum achievable efficiency of power ...

Electronic Band Structure Effects in the Stopping of Protons in Copper
We present an ab initio study of the electronic stopping power of protons in copper over a wide range of proton velocities $v = 0.02-10~\mathrm{a.u.}$ where we take into account non-linear effects.

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Investigation of wing shielding effects on CTOL engine noise [PDF]
A full scale engine wing shielding investigation was conducted at the Lewis Research Center using a 97,900-N (22,000 lb) thrust turbofan engine and a simulated wing section sized around a conventional-take-off type four-engine narrow body airplane. Sound
