Power take-off injuries

Injury, 1986
Accidents with power take-off mechanisms often cause very serious injuries. In this study the clinical data and circumstances of the accidents of 14 patients who suffered a power take-off accident were analysed. From a total of 38 fractures, three primary and three secondary amputations were necessary.

Power Take-off Injuries

The Journal of Trauma: Injury, Infection, and Critical Care, 1978
Power take-off injuries are uncommon, but serious and potentially fatal. Seven cases are reported demonstrating the violent trauma that can be incurred. The danger associated with use of machines with this and other power equipment is emphasized. Safety shields should be improved, and operators educated about the importance of retaining the shields and

Power Take-Off Systems

2007
In this chapter the main mechanisms that can be implemented to convert wave into mechanical and/or electrical energy are discussed. Such mechanisms are often called power take-off (PTO) or power conversion systems (the first is adopted throughout the book).

Power Take-off Device from Transmission Line

2019 International Multi-Conference on Industrial Engineering and Modern Technologies (FarEastCon), 2019
The article deals with a half-wave transmission lines, which are the most prospective for transmit an electric energy over long distances. The main feature of a half-wave transmission line is the voltage changes in the middle part of the line from the maximum, in the load mode, to zero, in the idle. This prevents the traditional parallel power take-off

RATING OF TRUCK POWER TAKE-OFFS

2023
<div class="section abstract"> <div class="htmlview paragraph">The power take-offs included in this SAE Standard are those which are driven from the transmission, auxiliary transmission, or transfer case of the type used in trucks, and are attached as described under SAE J704; are top-mounted on the auxiliary transmission; or are the type

Front Power Take-Off Systems - Truck Engines

SAE Technical Paper Series, 1969
<div class="htmlview paragraph">This paper describes four of the most widely used PTO systems that take power from the front of a truck engine. Speed considerations, system power potential, power consumed and typical applications are covered. The systems discussed are hydrostatic systems, hydraulic systems, mechanical “drive” systems, and direct ...

Split-Shaft Power Take-Offs

SAE Technical Paper Series, 1969
<div class="htmlview paragraph">Now available is a split-shaft PTO that is capable of handling the accessory that requires up to 10,000 lb-ft of torque from a single output shaft. This new model employs extra heavy duty roller bearings in the input shaft, as well as in the output shaft. It requires less than 17 in.

Nonlinear Modelling of Power Take Off Systems

OCEANS 2007 - Europe, 2007
The motion of a simple inertial wave energy converter (WEC) is studied to find the relative motion between an internal mass and an external body. The power take off (PTO) system is deemed to connect the internal mass to the external body, modelled as a spring and damper in parallel.
