Cell‐cycle‐specific lesion evolution rather than inhibition of double‐strand‐break repair underpins cisplatin radiosensitization

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We analyze cisplatin–DNA adducts (CDAs) and double‐strand breaks (DSBs) in a cell‐cycle‐dependent manner. We find that CDAs form similarly across all cell cycle phases. DSBs arise only in S‐phase. CDAs might not directly impair DSB repair, but S‐phase DSB lesions evolve in the presence of CDAs and disrupt repair in G2, also causing radiosensitization ...

Transcriptional profiling of circulating extracellular vesicles from prebiopsy prostate cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
RNA profiling of circulating extracellular vesicles (EVs) from blood samples of men undergoing prostate biopsy identifies transcripts associated with clinically significant prostate cancer. Integrative analysis with public tumor datasets links EV‐derived gene signatures to tumor stage and progression‐free survival, highlighting CASP3, XRCC2, and RIT1 ...

Temperature management as decisive optimization parameter for plasma-based CO2 splitting and biogas reforming

open access: yesResults in Chemistry
The efficient use of warm plasmas for CO₂ and biogas conversion critically depends on understanding and controlling thermal conditions inside the reactor.

Chebychev coefficients in approximation of powers of x

open access: yesJournal of Approximation Theory, 1990
The author makes use of studies by himself and others on the behavior of generalized polynomials and in particular, oscillating generalized polynomials, in order to obtain estimates on \(E_ n(\alpha)\) and \(E_ n'(\alpha)\) the degree of approximation of \(x^{\alpha}\), \(\alpha>0\), by means of polynomials of degree \(\leq n\) and by means of such ...

Interpreting the effects of DNA polymerase variants at the structural level

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using MAVISp and molecular dynamics simulations, we analyzed over 60 000 missense variants in POLE and POLD1 from ClinVar, COSMIC, cBioPortal, and saturation mutagenesis. Identified mechanistic indicators, including stability, binding, and long‐range, enable structural interpretation, providing ACMG‐like evidence for possible reclassification of VUS ...

DNA methylation and expression of MAPRE3 affect overall survival of early‐stage non‐small cell lung cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Both cg12821679MAPRE3 methylation and MAPRE3 expression are significantly associated with overall survival (OS) of non‐small cell lung cancer. Meanwhile, MAPRE3 expression significantly modified the effect of smoking cessation on OS. Smoking cessation benefits OS merely for patients with high MAPRE3 expression.

Defect aware X-filling for low-power scan testing

open access: yes
Various X-filling methods have been proposed for reducing the shift and/or capture power in scan testing. The main drawback of these methods is that X-filling for low power leads to lower defect coverage than random-fill.

Techno-Economic Analysis of Power to Ammonia Production [PDF]

open access: yesE3S Web of Conferences
This study introduces a novel methodology for conducting a techno-economic analysis of green ammonia production using mathematical models that meticulously parameterize plant units and technical specifications. The approach involves two key steps: first,

Circulating tumor cell viability during and after radiotherapy mirrors treatment response in cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Radiotherapy (RT) response depends on the DNA repair capacity of tumor and host cells. We show that circulating tumor cell (CTC) counts and apoptosis rates before and after RT predict treatment response and outcome, which can be accessed via easily accessible liquid biopsy approaches.
