Efficient High Power Amplifiers with Transmission Power Control Function
29th European Microwave Conference, 1999, 1999A new switchless scheme of transmission power control (TPC) function for high power amplifiers (HPAs) is proposed. Ku-band amplifier MMICs that followed this scheme were fabricated and tested. The amplifier MMICs and transmission lines instead of switches were used to construct the HPAwhich has TPC function by switching two amplifiers.

Unified Power Flow Controllers for Security-Constrained Transmission Management
IEEE Transactions on Power Systems, 2004Although flexible ac transmission system (FACTS) devices and unified power flow controllers (UPFCs) have proven to be powerful tools for the exploitation of network capacities, their performances with regard to transient stability have not been deeply explored yet.

The unified power flow controller: a new approach to power transmission control
IEEE Transactions on Power Delivery, 1995This paper shows that the unified power flow controller (UPFC) is able to control both the transmitted real power and, independently, the reactive power flows at the sending- and the receiving-end of the transmission line. The unique capabilities of the UPFC in multiple line compensation are integrated into a generalized power flow controller that is ...

Power Transmission and Control in Shearers
Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, 1981This paper discusses the special problems of power transmission and control in shearers for longwall mining, and reviews the ways in which changes to improve the machine's mining capabilities have made targets for reliability more complex to achieve*.

Transmission power control using perceptual quality metrics
14th IEEE Proceedings on Personal, Indoor and Mobile Radio Communications, 2003. PIMRC 2003., 2004In this paper a novel method of controlling transmission power in mobile communication systems is described. Our paper concentrates on the delivery of high quality voice communications as an example of how networks may be controlled to deliver services of a desired quality.

Transmission Power Control for Wireless Sensor Networks
2007 International Conference on Wireless Communications, Networking and Mobile Computing, 2007Power control in wireless networks is important to maintain reliable communication links between base stations and nodes, and to maximize the battery life. An energy aware connectivity set based transmission power control protocol is presented in this paper.

Global controllability of the power transmission network
Proceedings of 35th IEEE Conference on Decision and Control, 2002Global controllability of 2D and 4D nonlinear models of power transmission networks governed via flexible AC transmission systems (FACTS) is studied. This suggests that control functions enter the system via coefficients. The approach employed is based on a qualitative method.

Reducing Transmission Losses via Reactive Power Control
2021Modern smart grids are required to transport electricity along transmission lines from the renewable energy sources to the customer’s demand in an efficient manner. It is inevitable that power is lost along these lines due to active as well as reactive power flows.

Power Controlled Concurrent Transmissions in mmWave WPANs
IEICE Transactions on Communications, 2010This letter considers power-controlled transmission from directional antennas in mmWave wireless personal area network (WPAN) systems. The attributes of these systems are studied; these include the number of concurrent transmissions and the power consumption with different system parameters, such as the antenna's beamwidth and radiating efficiency ...
