Animal‐Assisted Activities With Therapy Dogs in Pediatric Oncology: A Multicenter Survey of the Current Status, Implementation, and Challenges in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Animal‐assisted activities (AAAs) with therapy dogs have shown positive effects on patient well‐being and quality of life in various areas of medicine, including pediatric oncology. However, research on this topic is limited. The aim of this study is to present the current status of AAA in pediatric oncology in Germany, Austria, and

Establishing an Apheresis Medicine Program in a Resource‐Constrained Setting: A 5‐Year Experience From Lagos, Nigeria

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Establishing a comprehensive apheresis medicine program in a resource‐constrained setting presents significant structural, financial, and logistical challenges. Despite the growing clinical importance of apheresis services globally, published experience from sub‐Saharan Africa remains sparse.

A novel protection scheme for VSC‐HVDC transmission lines based on current integral autocorrelation

open access: yesIET Generation, Transmission & Distribution, 2021
Voltage source converter‐based high voltage direct current (VSC‐HVDC) transmission system has become the mainstream of power construction and plays an increasingly important role in the power system. However, the DC line fault results in shutting down of

Transmission Pricing Incorporating the Impact of System Fault and Renewable Energy Uncertainty on the Transmission Margin

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2023
To ensure system reliability against unexpected and sudden disturbances, system operators must secure a portion of the transmission capacity of the power system as transmission reserve, which is not used under normal conditions.

Discerning protein pools by selective staining with self‐labeling tags

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Cell surface proteins have an intra‐ and extracellular pool. Combining genetic fusion to self‐labeling tags that can be addressed with small molecule fluorophores allows separating these pools. We highlight recent developments and techniques for state‐of‐the‐art interrogation of cell surface proteins in the complex tissue setting.

A Non-Intrusive Thermal Fault Inversion Method for GIS Using a POD-Kriging Surrogate Model and the Grey Wolf Optimizer

open access: yesEnergies
To address the inverse identification of contact-related thermal faults in gas-insulated switchgear (GIS), this study proposes a method for contact resistance inversion and internal temperature field reconstruction.

Novel pilot protection scheme for line‐commutated converter high voltage direct current transmission lines based on behaviour of characteristic harmonic impedances

open access: yesIET Generation, Transmission & Distribution, 2021
Transient behaviour of high‐voltage direct current transmission lines under direct current faults can be easily affected by many factors, namely, fault location, fault resistance and transmission line length.

Raman‐based label‐free microscopic analysis of the pancreas in living zebrafish larvae

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Forward stimulated Raman scattering (F‐SRS) and epi coherent anti‐Stokes Raman scattering (E‐CARS) allow label‐free discrimination of distinct subcellular structures in the pancreas of living zebrafish larvae. Given the straightforward applicability, we anticipate broad implementation of Raman microscopy in other organs and across various biomedical ...
