Influence of an Argon/Silane Atmosphere on the Temperature of a Thermal Plasma
The influence of a silane‐doped argon atmosphere on the chemical composition and temperature of a thermal nontransferring argon plasma is investigated using optical emission spectroscopy. As a result of the high amount of free electrons resulting from the stepwise ionization and dissociation of the silane molecule, even a silane addition of 0.01 vol ...

Robust chance-constrained optimization for power-efficient and secure SWIPT systems [PDF]
In this paper, we propose beamforming schemes to simultaneously transmit data securely to multiple information receivers (IRs) while transferring power wirelessly to multiple energy-harvesting receivers (ERs).

Electrical Conductivities of Conductors, Semiconductors, and Their Mixtures at Elevated Temperatures
This article presents a comprehensive review of temperature‐dependent electrical conductivity data for multiple material classes at elevated temperatures, highlighting a persistent conductivity gap between metals and semiconductors in the range of 102$\left(10\right)^{2}$– 107$\left(10\right)^{7}$ S/m. Metal–ceramic irregular metamaterials are proposed

Thermomechanical fatigue tests of laser beam powder bed fusion (PBF‐LB) Inconel 718 show that the additively manufactured material reaches almost the lifetimes of conventionally‐rolled material under no‐dwell conditions. Introducing dwell times at the maximum temperature markedly reduces the lifetimes due to pronounced grain boundary sliding associated

Fault Tree-Based Reliability Assessment of a 132-kV Transmission Line Protection Scheme [PDF]
The reliability of a power system network depends greatly on the performance of the protection system. Improving the reliability of the protection scheme of the transmission lines will enhance the overall reliability of the power system network.

Security versus Reliability Analysis of Opportunistic Relaying
Physical-layer security is emerging as a promising paradigm of securing wireless communications against eavesdropping between legitimate users, when the main link spanning from source to destination has better propagation conditions than the wiretap link

A room-temperature flash method for recycling epoxy and glass fibre composites into silicon carbide
The core rods of composite insulators and fab blades, primarily composed of epoxy and glass fibers rich in SiO2, pose significant recycling challenges in power grid waste management, but can serve as valuable precursors for synthesizing silicon carbide ...

Effect of Laser Deoxidation on Adhesive‐Bonded Aluminum in an Oxygen‐Free Atmosphere
This study investigates laser ablation of aluminum under oxygen‐free conditions. The goal is to produce oxide‐free substrates that enable improved adhesive bonding with epoxy. Optimized laser parameters (90% overlap, 300 µJ) combined with oxide‐free substrates result in the highest tensile strength of the adhesive bond.
