Long‐Term Snow Avalanche Trends in High Mountain Asia: Climatic Drivers and Impacts
Abstract Devastating snow avalanches are frequent in High Mountain Asia (HMA) yet remain undocumented with climate change impact drivers poorly understood. Here we introduce the first record of 60 million avalanche deposits across 10,701 small catchments, compiled from 33 years of Landsat data from 1990 until 2022 using a snow index.

Warming Causes a Decline in Baltic Sea Coastal Sediment Microbial Abundance
Long‐term warming in the Baltic Sea coastal area has led to a decrease in sediment microbial cell abundance, alongside a shallowing of sediment biogeochemical zones and associated microbial communities. These changes may become more pronounced in marine sediments under future climate change‐related warming.

Study of fuel cell powerplant with heat recovery [PDF]
It was shown that heat can be recovered from fuel cell power plants by replacing the air-cooled heat exchangers in present designs with units which transfer the heat to the integrated utility system.

SWEET1‐mediated glucose transport is crucial for energy availability in Arabidopsis
Summary The stress‐responsive hormone abscisic acid (ABA) is known for its inhibitory effects on various physiological processes, including seed germination, often resulting in energy deprivation. Interestingly, ABA‐induced germination inhibition can be alleviated by exogenous glucose (Glc), mimicking a functional interplay between ABA and sugar ...

ABSTRACT Selfing often causes inbreeding depression, especially during seed and seedling stages. However, some selfed progeny show low inbreeding depression with enhanced vigour, differing from inbred counterparts. This study investigates the molecular mechanisms maintaining seed vigour during selfing in Cunninghamia lanceolata.
