The hypertensive disorders of pregnancy are a leading cause of maternal mortality and morbidity. According to the group studies of NHPBEB 2000 four entities are defined: Chronic Hypertension (CH) previous to pregnancy, Gestational Hypertension (GH), Preeclampsia/Eclampsia (PE/E) and superimposed Preeclampisa/Eclampsia in Chronic Hypertension (PE/E CH).
