The Emergence and Future of Ppos

Journal of Health Politics, Policy and Law, 1986
A new development in the restructuring of American health care is the dramatic growth of preferred provider organizations (PPOs). Based on a national telephone survey, this paper assesses the future direction of PPOs by examining segments of the market that are believed to be lead indicators of future activity. It includes analyses of “new” versus “old”

Ppos: The Employer Perspective

Journal of Health Politics, Policy and Law, 1989
This paper reports the results of a national survey on employer experiences with preferred provider organizations (PPOs). The survey, conducted in 1987, included information from almost 700 telephone interviews with employee benefit managers. We found that 11 percent of employees are in PPOs. PPOs now have a strong presence among employers of all sizes.

Aims. Polyphenol oxidase (P.O), a ubiquitous enzyme in plants, is associated with browning and discoloration of breeding products such as pan bread, steamed bread, pasta, foodstuff of freezing dough. There are five genes that control the P.O activity: P.O-A1, P.O-D1, P.O-A2, P.O-B2 and P.O-D2. Genes P.O-A1, P.O-D1 can occur in several allelic variants:

The Puzzling Popularity Of The PPO

Health Affairs, 2004
Surging growth in preferred provider organization (PPO) participation has been fueled by migration away from the undesirable features of health maintenance organizations (HMOs). While employers, consumers, and providers seem to know what it is they do not want from HMOs, the advantages offered by PPO design are not so clear.

Effect of PEO-PPO-ph-PPO-PEO and PPO-PEO-ph-PEO-PPO on the Rheological and EOR Properties of Polymer Solutions

Industrial & Engineering Chemistry Research, 2014
The rheological properties of partially hydrolyzed polyacrylamide (HPAM) and PEO-PPO-ph-PPO-PEO (BPE) or PPO-PEO-ph-PEO-PPO (BEP) block polyether solutions are investigated here. Another hydrophobically associating polymer (HMPAM) is chosen as a contrast.

ASM-PPO: Asynchronous and Scalable Multi-Agent PPO for Cooperative Charging

International Joint Conference on Autonomous Agents and Multiagent Systems, 2022
Wireless Rechargeable Sensor Networks (WRSNs) are especially promising in large-area monitoring tasks that are previously impossible to complete by traditional Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs). Mobile Chargers (MCs) in WRSNs are to cooperatively charge battery drained sensor nodes high efficiently and with a guarantee of sensors survival.

Solubility of carbon dioxide in PPO and PPO/PS blends

Fluid Phase Equilibria, 2002
Abstract Solubility of carbon dioxide in poly(2,6-dimethyl-1,4-phenylene ether) (PPO) and PPO+polystyrene (PS) blends (25–50 wt.% PPO) was measured at temperatures of 373.15, 427.15, and 473.15 K and pressures up to 20 MPa. The solubility in the blends increased with increasing PPO concentration.

Services and Charges by PPO Physicians for PPO and Indemnity Patients

Medical Care, 1990
Physicians who participate in preferred provider organizations (PPOs) usually agree to various types of utilization review and sometimes discount their charges or agree to accept lower fees. This study was performed to determine whether they provided more or fewer services to their PPO patients than to their indemnity patients and whether the ...
