Nicotiana benthamiana plants transgenic for PPV-SWC coat protein are resistant to PPV infection [PDF]

open access: yesPlant Protection Science, 2002
Two constructs containing the coat protein gene (CP) of PPV-SwC - in (+) and (-) sense - were obtained and used to transform Nicotiana benthamiana plants via Agrobacterium tumefaciens. Transformed lines were analysed for the integration of the CP gene by

A review of some important viral diseases of wild boars [PDF]

open access: yesBiotechnology in Animal Husbandry, 2021
Wild boars are one of the widest-ranging mammals worldwide and represent reservoirs for many important viruses. Disease outbreaks in domestic swine are often described as a consequence of contact with wild boars, and traditional rearing conditions are a ...

Miscibility and Luminescence Properties of MEH-PPV/DPO-PPV Polyblends [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Polymer Research, 2005
Poly(2-methoxy-5-(2′-ethyl-hexyloxy)-p-phenylenevinylene) (MEH-PPV) and poly(2,3-diphenyl-5-octyl-p-phenylenevinylene) (DPO-PPV) are basically immiscible as verified by fluorescence spectroscopy and differential scanning calorimetry. This immiscibility results in insufficient energy transfer from DPO-PPV to MEH-PPV in photoluminescence.

Mesoscopic modelling of 2-CN-PPV/PPV polymer LED [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Materials Science: Materials in Electronics, 2007
Although optoelectronic devices made of polymers are very attractive ones (low cost, easy to make), problems related to charge transport, exciton quenching, among others, can be an obstacle for their performance. The use of heterojunctions made of two polymers can be a strategy for improving the efficiency of polymer light emitting diodes (PLEDs) at ...

Rheological Behavior of Precursor PPV Monolayers [PDF]

open access: yesLangmuir, 2004
The rheological behavior of different precursor poly(p-phenylene vinylene) (prec-PPV) monolayers at the air-water interface was investigated using an interfacial stress rheometer (ISR). This device nicely reveals a transition of the precursor poly(2,5-dimethoxy-1,4 phenylene vinylene) (prec-DMePPV) monolayer from Newtonian to elastic behavior with ...

Application of Bayesian Neural Network (BNN) for the Prediction of Blast-Induced Ground Vibration

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2023
Rock blasting is one of the most common and cost-effective excavation techniques. However, rock blasting has various negative environmental effects, such as air overpressure, fly rock, and ground vibration. Ground vibration is the most hazardous of these

Local varieties in India - New insights into adaptation patterns, performance and preferences over modern varieties of selected cereals among different seasons and regions

open access: yesThe Indian Journal of Agricultural Sciences, 2020
The successful development and deployment of widely adapted, input responsive high yielding varieties (HYVs) in cereals along with required inputs have been widely adopted and consequently these HYVs replaced the specifically adapted local varieties ...

Influence of infection of a tree by Plum pox virus on further spread of the disease within a plum orchard

open access: yesHorticultural Science, 2002
Occurrence of plum pox disease after natural infection was continually monitored between 1993 and 2000 in an experimental planting of plum trees where cultivars and hybrid seedlings were evaluated.
