Preparation and study of PPV/PVA nanofibers via electrospinning PPV precursor alcohol solution

European Polymer Journal, 2007
Abstract We have found a simple method to prepare poly(phenylene vinylene) (PPV) nanofibers via electrospinning PPV precursor alcohol solution under annealed at 180 °C in a N2 atmosphere. The nanofibers are uniform in diameter and long in decimeter magnitudes with resistance in decay, which makes them have potential applications in optical and ...

Luminescent properties of coumarin-doped MEH-PPV and novel coumarin-terminated MEH-PPV

Materials Chemistry and Physics, 2005
Abstract A series of novel coumarin-terminated poly(2-methoxy-5-(2′-ethylhexyloxy)-1,4-phenylene vinylene (CT-MEH-PPV) were synthesized successfully via Gilch methodology. Luminescent properties of CT-MEH-PPV were compared with those of blend systems.

MetaVInsulatorPolymer - LEDs Based on PPV

Molecular Crystals and Liquid Crystals Science and Technology. Section A. Molecular Crystals and Liquid Crystals, 1996
Abstract We investigated the current-voltage (I-V) and electroluminescence (EL) characteristic of metal/polymer and metal/insulator/polymer (MIP) LEDs based on poly (1,4-phenylene vinylene) (PPV). The I-V- and EL characteristics of the MIP structures display a pronounced dependence of the insulator thickness and we measure an increase of the quantum ...

Substituted PPV's for blue light

Synthetic Metals, 1999
Abstract Conjugated polymers based on poly(l,4-phenylenevinylene) (PPV) have provided one of the foundations for polymer based LED's. One of the important routes to these materials is to polymerise a substituted 1,4-bis(halomethylene)benzene to form a soluble halo precursor polymer which is then thermally treated to give the final conjugated polymer.

EDMR of MEH-PPV LEDs

Physica B: Condensed Matter, 2001
In this work, electrically detected magnetic resonance (EDMR) at X-band is used to study the electronic properties of poly(2-metoxy-5-(2 0 -etil-hexiloxy)-1,4-phenylene vinylene) (MEH-PPV) light-emitting diodes (LEDs). The EDMR signal from MEH-PPV LEDs is found to be composed of two lines, a Lorentzian with peak-to-peak linewidth of 5 G, and a Gaussian

Electronic levels in MEH-PPV

Synthetic Metals, 2000
pn-Junctions of MEH-PPV on top of heavily doped n-type silicon were used in electrical measurements. Through deep-level transient-spectroscopy (DLTS)-like measurements, four traps (two majority and two minority traps) could be identified on top of the shallow acceptor level responsible for conduction. Furthermore, evidence is found for interface states.

Optical excitations in PPV aggregates

Thin Solid Films, 2000
Abstract Linear optical responses of large PPV (poly(p-phenylenevinylene) aggregates have been investigated numerically using the linear-scaling (LDM) method. The semiempirical CNDO/S (Complete Neglect of Differential Overlap in Spectroscopy) Hamiltonian is adopted in the calculation.

Optical excitations in C60/PPV composites

Journal of Non-Crystalline Solids, 2006
Charge transfer (CT) and subsequent exciton dissociation are essential for organic donor/acceptor solar cells. We analyze these processes by calculating optical intrachain and CT excitations in a model donor/acceptor system. It is found that the increased electron affinity of low-gap polymers may seriously inhibit the CT efficiency.
