The cranial, mandibular, and hyoid anatomy of softshell turtles (Trionychidae): A revised character list for phylogenetic analysis

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, EarlyView.
Abstract Softshell turtles (Pan‐Trionychidae) are an early branching clade of hidden‐necked turtles (Cryptodira) with a rich fossil record extending back to the Early Cretaceous. The evolutionary history of softshell turtles is still unresolved because of their conservative morphology combined with high levels of polymorphism related to morphological ...

Use of panel reactive antibodies for immunological risk stratification and its correlation with antecedent events in live donor kidney transplant: A prospective single-center study

open access: yesIndian Journal of Transplantation, 2021
Background: Panel reactive antibody (PRA) is a screening test to identify the immunological sensitization of the transplant recipients. The current study focuses on the role of PRA in immunological risk stratification in live donor kidney transplant and ...

Collective periodicity in mean-field models of cooperative behavior

open access: yes, 2015
We propose a way to break symmetry in stochastic dynamics by introducing a dissipation term. We show in a specific mean-field model, that if the reversible model undergoes a phase transition of ferromagnetic type, then its dissipative counterpart ...

Patterns of spinal motion, kinematic spaces and the land‐to‐sea transition in carnivorans

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, EarlyView.
Using 3D reconstructions, we quantify intervertebral joint mobility to investigate how cervical, thoracic, and lumbar vertebral regions evolved distinct kinematic roles in pinnipeds. The findings reveal lineage‐specific adaptations for swimming and highlight the functional significance of vertebral joint flexibility in ecological transitions.

Intranasal Pharmacokinetics of Morphine ARER, a Novel Abuse-Deterrent Formulation: Results from a Randomized, Double-Blind, Four-Way Crossover Study in Nondependent, Opioid-Experienced Subjects

open access: yesPain Research and Management, 2018
Objective. To investigate the pharmacokinetics (PK) of Morphine ARER, an extended-release (ER), abuse-deterrent formulation of morphine sulfate after oral and intranasal administration. Methods.

Redescription of the Triassic cynodont Cistecynodon parvus and reassessment of its phylogeny

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, EarlyView.
Abstract Cynodontia is an important subclade of Therapsida that first occurred in the late Permian. It includes extinct subclades which are the non‐mammaliaform cynodonts and Mammaliaformes, with the latter ultimately giving rise to crown mammals. The systematics of non‐mammaliaform cynodonts has been extensively studied and is relatively well‐resolved,

Acquaintance time of random graphs near connectivity threshold [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Benjamini, Shinkar, and Tsur stated the following conjecture on the acquaintance time: asymptotically almost surely $AC(G) \le p^{-1} \log^{O(1)} n$ for a random graph $G \in G(n,p)$, provided that $G$ is connected. Recently, Kinnersley, Mitsche, and the

Evolutionary radiation of large‐bodied gorgonopsians from the lower Abrahamskraal formation of South Africa

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, EarlyView.
Abstract The middle Permian represents a critical interval in therapsid evolution, when gorgonopsians emerged as some of the first specialized apex predators within terrestrial ecosystems. Despite their significance, the early diversification of Gorgonopsia in Gondwana remains poorly understood due to scarcity and fragmentary material.

VAMOS PRA PALMARES!!!

Arene Incorporation and Ring Expansion in the Thermal Decomposition of a Divanadium(III) Complex With Four Bridging Methyl Groups

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
Thermolysis of [{VCp*(µ‐CH3)2}2] (Cp* = η5‐C5Me5) in hexane leads to a tetranuclear cube‐type methylidene complex [{VCp*(µ3‐CH2)}4], while in benzenic solvents C6H5R produces the formal insertion of a CH fragment into the six‐membered aromatic ring of a solvent molecule to give trovacene derivatives with η7‐cycloheptatrienyl ligands [VCp*(η7‐C7H6R ...
