Effect of artificial aging and different surface finishing protocols on the flexural strength and surface hardness of a photopolymer for manufacturing monolithic polychromatic complete dentures using PolyJet 3D printing

open access: yesJournal of Prosthodontics, EarlyView.
Abstract Purpose This study evaluated the effect of thermocycling and three different surface finishing protocols on the flexural strength and surface hardness of a novel photopolymer intended for manufacturing monolithic polychromatic dental prostheses using PolyJet 3D printing.

Disorders of Arousal in Children and Associated Emotional–Behavioural Problems: Results From a Non‐Clinical Longitudinal Cohort

open access: yesJournal of Sleep Research, EarlyView.
This study reports associations between more frequent episodes of disorders of arousal at 4 years old and emotional–behavioural problems at age 4 and externalising problems at age 5. More frequent episodes seem to indicate more severe presentation and, thus, may be a warning sign for emotional–behavioural problems.

Recombination suppression in plant adaptation and speciation

open access: yesNew Phytologist, EarlyView.
Summary Recombination suppression is increasingly recognized as an important facilitator of genomic divergence and speciation, especially under ongoing gene flow. In plants, however, the broader evolutionary consequences and the mechanisms by which recombination suppression arises and spreads are still incompletely understood, reflecting the inherent ...

Diversity affects microclimate temperature and humidity: an overview of the evidence and major unanswered questions

open access: yesNew Phytologist, EarlyView.
Summary Climate change is increasing global temperatures, increasing atmospheric drying, and driving more severe and frequent drought. Plants can cool and humidify microclimates through sensible and latent heat exchange. Higher diversity plant communities can modify microclimates more strongly than lower diversity plant communities, creating the ...

Effects of warming on plant uptake of post‐fire nitrogen in an arctic heath tundra

open access: yesNew Phytologist, EarlyView.
Summary Postfire nitrogen (N) becomes increasingly important with the rising frequency of fires in arctic tundra, and climate warming is expected to accelerate plant recovery following fire. However, how plants differ in utilizing this postfire N and how their postfire N uptake responds to warming remains unknown.
