Computational modeling of unsteady third-grade fluid flow over a vertical cylinder: A study of heat transfer visualization

open access: yesResults in Physics, 2018
The present paper aims to investigate the effect of Prandtl number for unsteady third-grade fluid flow over a uniformly heated vertical cylinder using Bejan’s heat function concept. The mathematical model of this problem is given by highly time-dependent

Thermal and Bioconvective Modeling and Analysis of Unsteady Cu‐Water Nanofluid Flow through Porous Media with Gyrotactic Microorganisms

open access: yesEngineering Reports, Volume 8, Issue 9, September 2026.
The current study investigated unsteady boundary layer flow of a Cu/H2O$$ \mathrm{Cu}/{\mathrm{H}}_2\mathrm{O} $$ nanofluid over an expanding sheet embedded in a Darcy porous medium, containing gyrotactic microorganisms. The model includes heat source effects, unsteadiness, buoyancy, slip conditions, and nanoparticle radius.

Non-Newtonian Prandtl fluid over stretching permeable surface [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
An analysis is made of the velocity and temperature distribution in the flow of a viscous incompressible fluid caused by the stretching permeable surface which issues in the Prandtl fluid.

A Review of Flow Field and Heat Transfer Characteristics of Jet Impingement From Special‐Shaped Holes

open access: yesEngineering Reports, Volume 8, Issue 9, September 2026.
Special‐shaped nozzles and nanofluid integration enhance jet impingement cooling by improving heat transfer and thermal uniformity. However, gains are constrained by increased pressure drop and stability challenges, highlighting the need for optimized designs and multiscale modeling to achieve efficient, scalable thermal management.

A Hybrid FEM–ML Framework for Magnetohydrodynamic Combined Convective Heat Transfer Performance of Hybrid Nanofluid Flow in a Horizontal Wavy Channel

open access: yesEngineering Reports, Volume 8, Issue 9, September 2026.
The maximum heat transfer rate is observed at Ri = 10, Ha = 0, and ϕ = 0.06 under the default parameter settings for different boundary conditions. The proposed ANN model demonstrates good predictive and classification accuracy in estimating the average Nusselt number for both cases. ABSTRACT This computational study introduces a novel hybrid framework

Cio-cio-san no Yūutsu: memoirs of magnetogenesis and Turbulent Dynamo Theory [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
The origins of cosmic magnetic fields are not as yet well understood. In this dissertation we investigate, via direct numerical simulation, the temporal evolution and behaviour of magnetic fields that are generated from absolute zero initial conditions ...

Thermal Behavior of Radiative Darcy–Forchheimer Nanofluid Flow With Heat Source/Sink Effects

open access: yesEngineering Reports, Volume 8, Issue 9, September 2026.
Radiative Darcy–Forchheimer nanofluid flow in a porous medium is numerically analyzed with heat source/sink effects. Radiation enhances heat transfer and boundary layer thickness, while increasing Forchheimer resistance suppresses velocity, providing insights for optimizing thermal management in high‐temperature porous systems.

Flow Characteristics and Response Surface Methodology‐Based Pressure‐Loss Prediction Models for the Reverse Circulation Converter in Double‐Wall Drill Pipes

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, Volume 14, Issue 9, Page 4282-4299, September 2026.
Flow characteristics and pressure loss mechanisms of a reverse circulation converter in dual‐wall drill pipes are systematically investigated using CFD and response surface methodology. The results reveal the dominant role of inertial dissipation and provide a predictive framework for optimizing converter design and operational parameters. ABSTRACT The
