A Linear Stability Analysis Of Large-Prandtl-Number Thermocapillary Liquid Bridges
A linear stability analysis is applied to determine the onset of oscillatory thermocapillary convection in cylindrical liquid bridges of large Prandtl numbers (4 1, which has been less studied previously and where Re, has been usually believed to ...

ABSTRACT Driven by the energy crisis and carbon neutrality goals, high‐efficiency heat exchange equipment has become a core demand in the industrial sector. The spiral grooved double‐pipe heat exchanger exhibits significant heat transfer enhancement advantages, yet it requires balancing heat transfer efficiency and pressure loss.

The linear instability analysis of the present paper shows that the thermocapillary convection in a half floating zone of larger Prandtl number has a steady instability mode w(i) = 0 and m = 1 for a fat liquid bridge V = 1.2 with small geometrical aspect

Global and Detailed Calculation of Tube Wall Temperature in a Process Furnace Steam Superheater
This study presents a comparison between an iterative global model and multiple approaches to a new non‐iterative model with the purpose of predicting tube wall temperature of a superheater. The results show that the non‐iterative method achieves sufficient accuracy while improving the prediction of local temperature distribution and better ...

Onset of zero Prandtl number convection
The transition to convection in a zero Prandtl number fluid with stress-free and perfectly conducting boundaries differs significantly from finite Prandtl number convection, giving rise to a three-dimensional pattern. Two possible scenarios are described

The anisotropy of low prandtl number turbulent convection [PDF]
A model for homogeneous anisotropic incompressible turbulence is proposed. The model generalizes the GISS model of homogeneous isotropic turbulence; the generalization involves the solution of the GISS equations along a set of integration paths in wavenumber (k-) space.
