Evaluation of pre‐emergence herbicides for establishing coffee

International Journal of Pest Management, 1992
Abstract Two field experiments were conducted to determine the safety of repeated applications of several pre‐emergence herbicides in coffee from the recently transplanted stage to 1 year old. Oryzalin and oxyfluorfen had at least a four‐fold selectivity margin to coffee at two locations; these herbicides had a greater safety margin than simazine ...

Pre-Emergence Weed Control in Soybeans

Weeds, 1957
NE of the major problems in present-day soybean production is weed control. The increased interest in profitable soybean production in recent years has stimulated a demand for a satisfactory and economical means of chemical control to supplement cultural practices.

Factors Influencing Pre‐emergence Mortality in Peas

Plant Pathology, 1968
SUMMARY Seedling emergence of 25 samples of wrinkle‐seeded peas ( Pisum sativum L.) was determined in unsterilized soil and sterilized sand at 15°C in the laboratory, and in a spring sowing in the field.

Weed control in sesame with pre-emergence herbicides

Indian Journal of Weed Science, 2018
Pendimethalin, imazethapyr, metribuzin, oxyfluorfen, imezemox were evaluated as pre-emergence herbicides in sesame during summer season of 2013 and 2014 at ICAR-Directorate of Weed Research, Jabalpur. All the herbicides reduced the weed population significantly as compared with weedy check but delayed the germination of sesame and caused sesame injury.

Is the geomagnetic map imprinted in pre-emergent egg?

Electromagnetic Biology and Medicine, 2015
Although it is well-accepted that the geomagnetic field (GMF) plays an important role in animal navigation and migration, key problems remain unanswered. To explain the puzzling ability of hatchlings to embark on unexplored migrational journeys we hypothesize that mothers who have previously navigated the trip enable their offspring by direct transfer ...
