Weed control in sesame with pre-emergence herbicides

Indian Journal of Weed Science, 2018
Pendimethalin, imazethapyr, metribuzin, oxyfluorfen, imezemox were evaluated as pre-emergence herbicides in sesame during summer season of 2013 and 2014 at ICAR-Directorate of Weed Research, Jabalpur. All the herbicides reduced the weed population significantly as compared with weedy check but delayed the germination of sesame and caused sesame injury.

Tolerances of wheat cultivars to pre-emergence herbicides

Australian Journal of Experimental Agriculture, 1985
Twelve spring wheat cultivars were tested in southern New South Wales for their tolerances to the recommended rates and three times the recommended rates of trifluralin, pendimethalin, tri-allate and chlorsulfuron. Recommended rates of these herbicides did not affect the emergence or grain yield of any cultivar.

Response of adzuki bean to pre-emergence herbicides

Canadian Journal of Plant Science, 2006
Limited herbicide options are available to adzuki bean growers in southwestern Ontario. Six field trials were conducted in Ontario during 2003 and 2004 to evaluate the tolerance of adzuki bean to dimethenamid (1250 and 2500 g a.i. ha-1), S-metolachlor (1600 and 3200 g a.i. ha-1), clomazone (1000 and 2000 g a.i. ha-1), and imazethapyr (75 and 150 g a.i.

Pre-Emergence Herbicides on Alfalfa and Birdsfoot Trefoil

Weeds, 1960
THE first step in a satisfactory forage-legume program on the farm T is the establishment of the legume. Success or failure here can mean the difference between a continued efficient rotation system and a financial loss. Many farmers have been reluctant to plow up old seedings at the proper time because of the cost of new seedings and the possibilities

Tolerance of Sorghum Genotypes to Pre-emergence Application of Herbicides

Madras Agricultural Journal, 1976
A pot culture investigation was carried out to find out the tolerance of four sorghum genotypes viz., CSH 1, CSH 3, Swarna and GM 2-3-1 to pre emergence application of atrazine and 2, 4-D at 0.5 to 2.5 and 0.5 to 2.0 kg a. i. per ha, respectively. Application of higher dose of herbicide reduced germination of all the genotypes.

Application of pre-emergence herbicides in poplar nursery production

Journal of Forestry Research, 2015
In addition to pests and diseases, weeds are a major problem in poplar nursery production. The possibilities of herbicide application in juvenile poplar growth were researched, taking into account that weeds are one of the main limiting factors. The following pre-emergence herbicides were tested: acetochlor, S-metolachlor, metribuzin, oxifluorfen, and ...
