Foramsulfuron remains effective on Pro‐197 Poa annua, but co‐formulation with thiencarbazone reduces efficacy due to limited activity and antagonism. Therefore, foramsulfuron + thiencarbazone should be used in fields without ALS‐resistant weeds to ensure effective in‐crop control.

The presence of weeds at the beginning of cultivation can negatively affect cassava productivity because of the slow initial development of the crop. To minimize weed interference, pre-emergence herbicides can be used, provided they are selective to crops.

Elevated CO2 promotes the growth of Xanthium strumarium while increasing its susceptibility to the systemic herbicide trifloxysulfuron‐sodium. The efficacy of the soil‐active herbicide fluometuron remains unaffected by changes in CO2 concentration and temperature.

Walnuts are California's leading deciduous tree crop. Walnut orchardists spend over one million dollars annually for weed control on an estimated 140,000 acres. In addition, losses due to weeds in the orchards were recently estimated at $2,720,000 annually.
