Do spatially targeted weed management strategies increase risk of herbicide resistance evolution?
Spray‐buffers reduce the effect of detection inaccuracies in spot spraying. We found a trade‐off between short‐term weed population control efficacy and long‐term prevention of herbicide resistance evolution. Abstract Background Spatially targeted spraying is an alternative to broadcast herbicide application that reduces herbicide use by restricting ...

The continuing significance of chiral agrochemicals
In the time frame 2018–2023, around 43% of the 35 chiral agrochemicals introduced to the market (herbicides, fungicides, insecticides, acaricides, and nematicides) contain one or more stereogenic centers in the molecule, and almost 69% of them have been marketed as racemic mixtures of enantiomers or stereoisomers.

Controlling watergrass in corn: With pre-emergence herbicides
Four years of testing have shown that chemicals incorporated in the soil as pre-emergence treatments give satisfactory control of watergrass and many broad-leaved weeds in corn growing in the organic soils of the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta. Eptam, Tillam, atrazine and Randox-T are all potentially useful chemicals.

Aspects of Biology of the Weed of Arable Crops broom corn millet (Panicum miliaceum L.) [PDF]
Grass weeds such as Panicum miliaceum L. (broom corn millet) are a persistent problem for agriculture, causing significant crop losses. A weedy biotype of broom corn millet is already a troublesome weed on North American arable farms, and has recently ...

Intercropping mitigates incidence of the oilseed rape insect pest complex
Intercropping reduces the incidence of the oilseed rape insect pest complex with a significant impact of the direct visual and physical disruption provided by the companion plant. Abstract BACKGROUND Oilseed rape (OSR, Brassica napus) is a major crop requiring numerous phytosanitary treatments.

Pre-emergence herbicides for weed control in walnuts
Walnuts are California's leading deciduous tree crop. Walnut orchardists spend over one million dollars annually for weed control on an estimated 140,000 acres. In addition, losses due to weeds in the orchards were recently estimated at $2,720,000 annually.

ABSTRACT The current study aimed to quantify the antimicrobials amoxicillin (AMX), cefazolin (CFZ), chloramphenicol (CHL), metronidazole (MTZ), and sulfamethoxazole (SX) in effluents and surface water of an important Cerrado river, calculate their half‐lives, and analyze their ecotoxicity following single and combined exposures.
