Response of Industrial Hemp (Cannabis sativa L.) to Herbicides and Weed Control

open access: yesInternational Journal of Plant Biology
Industrial hemp is a continuously expanding crop; however, there has been limited research on its herbicide selectivity and weed control. Pendimethalin, s-metolachlor and aclonifen at 1137.5, 960 and 1800 g a.i.

Drivers of Mouse Plagues: Exceptional Rainfall Following Prolonged Drought Triggers Mouse Plagues in Southeastern Australia

open access: yesIntegrative Zoology, EarlyView.
This study identified a specific sequence of an extended drought followed by exceptional rainfall as a necessary precursor for mouse plagues in southeastern Australia. Long‐term rainfall anomalies interact with ecological processes to reset population dynamics, creating conditions that support rapid mouse population growth following periods of ...

ECONOMICS OF HERBICIDE CONTROL OF LEAFY SPURGE (EUPHORBIA ESULA L.) [PDF]

open access: yes
Leafy spurge (Euphorbia esula L.), a widely established exotic, noxious, perennial weed, is a major threat to the viability of commercial grazing and to beneficial outputs of wildlands in the Upper Great Plains. Herbicide treatments are often recommended

Successful translocation of an imperiled amphibian following targeted habitat restoration efforts

open access: yesConservation Science and Practice, EarlyView.
Abstract Recovery strategies have increasingly called for the use of conservation translocations to overcome barriers to natural recolonization of suitable habitat to reverse population declines. The critically imperiled Reticulated Flatwoods Salamander (Ambystoma bishopi) has experienced severe range contractions and local extirpations across most of ...

CP32, a novel anti‐oomycete cyclic peptide, interferes with cell‐wall deposition in Phytophthora infestans

open access: yesJournal of Integrative Plant Biology, EarlyView.
The small cyclic peptide CP32 effectively inhibits Phytophthora infestans, the causal agent of potato and tomato late blight. Combined biochemical and phenotypic analyses demonstrate that CP32 disrupts cell wall biosynthesis, a key process in pathogen infection, resulting in a marked reduction of disease symptoms in plants.

Pre-emergence and Post-emergence Applied Herbicides for Weed Management in Soybean [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
The purpose of this study was to evaluate herbicide treatments applied pre-emergence and post-emergence for weed efficacy and crop phytotoxicity in a glyphosate-resistant soybean variety.

Plant cis‐regulatory grammar: Decoding the multidimensional code of transcriptional regulation for programmable crop engineering

open access: yesJournal of Integrative Plant Biology, EarlyView.
This review decodes the grammar of plant cis‐regulatory elements, revealing that their function emerges from sequence, chromatin accessibility, 3D topology, and cell type context. It highlights how single‐cell omics, CRISPR dissection, and AI‐driven design converge to enable predictive engineering and crop improvement. ABSTRACT Cis‐regulatory elements (

Effects of pre-mix herbicide combinations on weed management in transplanted rice (Oryza sativa)

open access: yesThe Indian Journal of Agricultural Sciences
An experiment was conducted during rainy (kharif) season of 2021 at the Agricultural Farm of Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh for evaluating the efficacy of pre-mix herbicide combinations applied as post emergence in managing weeds in ...
