(Abstracted from Lancet 2021;398:341–354) Preeclampsia affects approximately 3% to 5% of all pregnancies and is a substantial contributor to maternal morbidity and mortality. The hallmark features are hypertension and proteinuria, and significant complications of multiorgan injury include eclamptic seizures, pulmonary edema, epigastric pain ...

Pre-term pre-labour amniorrhexis
Current Opinion in Obstetrics and Gynecology, 1996In pregnancies complicated by pre-term pre-labour aminorrhexis, there is a risk of intra-uterine infection, which is associated with maternal and perinatal mortality and morbidity. The causes of neonatal death in pregnancies with aminorrhexis are prematurity, pulmonary hypoplasia and sepsis.

Each length function λ induces a rudimentary integration process as follows. If the function χ[a:b] is 1 on the interval [a:b] and 0 elsewhere, then its “integral” I λ (χ[a:b]) with respect to λ should be λ[a:b] and if f = ∑ i=1 n c i χ[a:b] then I λ (f) should be ∑ i=1 n c i λ[a i :b i ]. But is this assignment non-ambiguous?

The paper “Pre-hedging” studies a dealer that pre-hedges an anticipated potential trade and analyses how this affects the client’s overall execution outcome. It shows that pre-hedging can benefit both parties: Improved risk management over an extended horizon then enables the dealer to charge reduced spreads that more than offset any adverse impact the

Pre-eclampsia is a major cause of maternal mortality (15-20% in developed countries) and morbidities (acute and long-term), perinatal deaths, preterm birth, and intrauterine growth restriction. Key findings support a causal or pathogenetic model of superficial placentation driven by immune maladaptation, with subsequently reduced concentrations of ...

Pre-eclampsia affects 3-5% of pregnancies and is traditionally diagnosed by the combined presentation of high blood pressure and proteinuria. New definitions also include maternal organ dysfunction, such as renal insufficiency, liver involvement, neurological or haematological complications, uteroplacental dysfunction, or fetal growth restriction. When

In a word: Pre-Raphaelite, Pre-Raphaelites, Pre-Raphaelitism
2017This essay considers three key terms in the historiography of nineteenth-century British art, discussing their changing uses and meanings from their usage in the biographies of artists written from the 1880s onwards, through exhibitions, dealer galleries and sale rooms of the fin-de-siecle, and through the twentieth century.

Pre-professional pre-conceptions
2018While MT+PE has become an industry standard, our translation schools are not able to accompany these changes by updating their academic programs. We polled 100 pre-professionals to confirm that in our local context they are reluctant to accept post-editing jobs mainly because they have inherited pre-conceptions or negative opinions about MT during ...
