The prototype DynamiX camera system – a high‐frame‐rate high‐dynamic‐range hard X‐ray integrating detector for fourth‐generation synchrotrons

open access: yesJournal of Synchrotron Radiation, Volume 33, Issue 5, Page 1392-1405, September 2026.
This paper presents the first results from the DynamiX X‐ray imaging detector developed by the UK's Science and Technology Facilities Council for a new generation of photon light sources. Operating at a continuous frame rate of 534 kHz and with a per‐pixel per‐frame dynamic range of roughly five orders of magnitude, this work is the first step in ...

Monolithic integration of SiC diode detectors into scanning X‐ray microscopy optical elements for in situ beam diagnostics

open access: yesJournal of Synchrotron Radiation, Volume 33, Issue 5, Page 1338-1345, September 2026.
Silicon carbide detectors are monolithically integrated into order‐sorting apertures and center stops for in situ soft X‐ray beam diagnostics in STXM. Functionalized components enable simultaneous monitoring of incident beam intensity and the transverse position at sample‐relevant locations without degrading optical performance.Reliable monitoring of ...

Voice Quality in Individuals With Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome

open access: yesInternational Journal of Language &Communication Disorders, Volume 61, Issue 5, September/October 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Speech and voice disorders are frequently observed in individuals with acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS). However, the literature lacks detailed descriptions of how perceptual and acoustic characteristics manifest in the voice quality profiles of this population.

Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation Combined With Electroencephalography Analysis Suggest Time‐Dependent and Region‐Specific Modulation of Cortical Excitability During Acute Alcohol Intoxication

open access: yesAlcohol, Clinical and Experimental Research, Volume 50, Issue 9, September 2026.
This study examined how acute alcohol exposure affects brain cortical activity in 34 healthy adults using TMS‐EEG. Measurements were taken before, 30 min after, and 120 min after intoxication. Alcohol altered brain activity in a time‐dependent manner, reducing signal amplitudes shortly after intake, with partial recovery later.

Acute pre‐exercise oral intake of cacao polyphenols attenuates central fatigue development during sustained low‐intensity ankle dorsiflexion exercise in healthy young male adults

open access: yesPhysiological Reports, Volume 14, Issue 17, September 2026.
Abstract This double‐blind, randomized, crossover study investigated whether acute cacao polyphenol (CP) ingestion attenuates neuromuscular fatigue in 19 healthy young male adults. After consuming CP or placebo, participants performed sustained isometric ankle dorsiflexion at 25% of maximal voluntary isometric contraction (MVIC) torque until task ...
