A Method to Improve the Distribution of Observations in GNSS Water Vapor Tomography

open access: yesSensors, 2018
Water vapor is an important driving factor in the related weather processes in the troposphere, and its temporal-spatial distribution and change are crucial to the formation of cloud and rainfall.

Analysis of GNSS Precipitable Water Vapor and Its Gradients During a Rainstorm in North China in July 2023

open access: yesRemote Sensing
This study presents a water vapor gradient (WVG) retrieval method based on Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) tropospheric parameter estimation. A case study examined the method’s applicability to the extreme rainstorm event in North China in July

Extratropical Cyclone Precipitation Life Cycles: A Satellite‐Based Analysis

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, 2018
Although extratropical cyclones are the most common midlatitude storms, the relationship between their precipitation life cycle and dynamical strength life cycle has not been thoroughly analyzed.

Liquid Phase Transmission Electron Microscopy: A Window into the Early Stages of Complex Material Formation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Liquid‐phase transmission electron microscopy enables direct observation of nucleation and growth processes in solution. This review is dedicated to the remembrance of Helmut Cölfen and highlights recent studies on complex materials—oxides, biominerals, organic–inorganic crystals—which were central to his research activity. It summarizes key milestones,

Dependence of precipitation on precipitable water vapor over the Maritime Continent and implications to the Madden-Julian Oscillation

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, 2021
Abstract The weakening of the Madden‐Julian Oscillation (MJO) as it propagates over the Maritime Continent (MC) is often referred to as the MC barrier. Here, we use 3‐hourly precipitable water vapor (PWV) data obtained from the Sumatran GPS Array and the ERA5 reanalysis to investigate the role played by the column moisture over the MC.

Intrinsic Photoactive Star ZnPc–Poly(glutamate) Nanoplatforms for Multimodal Glioblastoma Therapy and Brain‐Targeted Delivery

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
An intrinsic photoactive star‐shaped zinc phtalocyanine‐poly(L‐glutamic acid) (ZnPc‐PGA) nanoplatform for multimodal glioblastoma (GBM) therapy and brain‐targeted elivery. A ZnPc‐PGA‐based multifunctional theranostic nanocarrier platform enables image‐guided, multimodal GBM therapy. ZnPc‐PGA nanocarriers support the integration of fluorescence imaging,

Temporal Relations of Column Water Vapor and Tropical Precipitation

open access: yesJournal of the Atmospheric Sciences, 2010
Abstract Empirical studies using satellite data and radiosondes have shown that precipitation increases with column water vapor (CWV) in the tropics, and that this increase is much steeper above some critical CWV value. Here, eight years of 1-min-resolution microwave radiometer and optical gauge data at Nauru Island are analyzed to ...

Polarity‐Reversible Photoresponse–Driven Autonomous Wavelength Discrimination in Quantum Dot–Tellurium Thin‐Film Photodetectors via Engineered Energy‐Band Alignment

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A quantum dot–tellurium thin‐film photodetector autonomously discriminates visible and infrared wavelengths through polarity‐reversible photoresponses. Engineered carrier separation and gain modulation enable filter‐free multispectral sensing within a single‐device architecture.

Characteristics of Precipitable Water Vapor and Liquid Water Path by Microwave Radiometer [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the Korean earth science society, 2012
Based on the observation of the microwave radiometers at Cheongju, Hapcheon and Daegwallyeong in Korea, the precipitable water vapor and liquid water path have been analyzed for spatio-temporal characteristics. The observed datas have been validated by comparing precipitable water vapor between the microwave radiometer and the radiosonde near the sites.
