Measurement of the Velocity of the Neutrino with MINOS [PDF]
The MINOS experiment uses a beam of predominantly muon-type neutrinos generated using protons from the Main Injector at Fermilab in Batavia, IL, and travelling 735 km through the Earth to a disused iron mine in Soudan, MN. The 10{\mu}s-long beam pulse contains fine time structure which allows a precise measurement of the neutrino time of flight to be ...

This study presents a method for precise control of RIG‐I (retinoic acid inducible gene I), an innate immune receptor of RNA that, when activated, induces anti‐tumor immune responses and cancer cell death. By incorporating photocage modifications into RNA ligands, we enable a spatially and temporally regulated immune response and offer a targeted ...

Direct comparisons of European primary and secondary frequency standards via satellite techniques [PDF]
We carried out a 26-day comparison of five simultaneously operated optical clocks and six atomic fountain clocks located at INRIM, LNE-SYRTE, NPL and PTB by using two satellite-based frequency comparison techniques: broadband Two-Way Satellite Time and Frequency Transfer (TWSTFT) and Global Positioning System Precise Point Positioning (GPS PPP).

Understanding and Tuning Singlet–Triplet (S1–T1) Energy Gaps in Planar Organic Chromophores
A new framework for tuning singlet–triplet (S1–T1) gaps based on electrostatic interactions of the transition density is developed. Three widely applicable design rules for maximizing the singlet–triplet gap are derived: minimizing the number of electrons, localizing the excitation, and optimizing through‐space interactions.

Abstract The COVID‐19 pandemic saw governments around the world suddenly accumulate substantially higher levels of public debt. We consider the level of debt entered into by Australia's federal, state and territory governments and compare this against three metrics for debt sustainability.

Conjugated polymers as photocatalysts for hydrogen therapy
Conjugated polymers, including linear polymers and crosslinked conjugated materials, are promising photocatalysts for hydrogen evolution due to their excellent optical properties. Hydrogen therapy based on photocatalytic hydrogen evolution presented significant effects in the fields of anti‐inflammatory, free radical scavenging, and cancer treatment ...

Lienhwalides: Unique Tropolone–Maleidride Hybrids from Hypoxylon lienhwacheense
Lienhwalides are novel tropolone–maleidride hybrid molecules unique in nature. Absolute configuration is solved by semisynthetic approaches and X‐ray analysis. Interplay between both lwt and lwm biosynthetic gene clusters is responsible for the production of lienhwalides.
