ESG Ratings and Investment Returns at the Country Level: Does Higher Mean Better?
ABSTRACT We examine whether U.S. dollar‐based investors can do better investing in highly rated ESG countries than in medium and lower rated ESG countries using both cross sectional and panel data estimations. In general, we find evidence that investment in ESGLow scoring countries leads to better returns than investing in ESGHigh scoring countries ...

Extracting Geodetic Data from GNSS-VLBI Co-Observation [PDF]
We have been developing a novel interferometer formed directly between a Very Long Baseline Interferometry (VLBI) radio telescope and a Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) antenna/receiver. This interferometer is enabled by the High Rate Tracking Receiver (HRTR), a high-performance GNSS software-defined receiver that records baseband data ...

Exchange Rate Risk and Deviations From Purchasing Power Parity
ABSTRACT This paper proposes a new solution to the purchasing power parity (PPP) puzzles, arguing that investors' higher‐order risk attitudes, combined with higher‐order uncertainty about nominal exchange rates, as reflected by skewness and kurtosis, drive a risk premium that leads to deviations from PPP.

Advantages of regional development—A study on poverty alleviation in contiguous destitute areas
Abstract The 2011–2020 period is the final stage of poverty alleviation in China, which emphasizes regional development. Using county‐level panel data from 2006 to 2015, we explore the impact of regional poverty alleviation policy on economic growth of contiguous destitute areas (CDAs) in China.

When Super (Wo)man Fails to Appear: Beyond Idealized Prototypes in Crisis Leadership
ABSTRACT Crisis leadership has been a topic of interest for nearly a century. Recent works present an idealized, gendered template for such leadership by casting men as masculine protectors or superheroes and women as feminine nurturers or selfless, relational superwomen.

Frequency comparison of ${}^{171}$Yb${}^+$ ion optical clocks at PTB and NPL via GPS PPP [PDF]
We used Precise Point Positioning, a well-established GPS carrier-phase frequency transfer method to perform a direct remote comparison of two optical frequency standards based on single laser-cooled $^{171}$Yb$^+$ ions operated at NPL, UK and PTB, Germany.

This report presents experimental results for a moving platform using GPS PPP data for state estimation. Results from two PPP GPS state estimation approaches are presented: point-wise least squares (LS) and aided inertial navigation (INS). The point-wise LS results provide information about the accuracy and reliability of PPP GPS information at each ...
