Improving Geoidal Height Estimates from Global Geopotential Model Using Regression Model and GPS Data [PDF]

open access: yes, 1997
Conventionally, for most application, position of a point is often referred to the geoid as the reference surface. Thus there is an important need for the knowledge of the geoid undulation in the area where positioning tasks is performed, This ...

Near-field electrospinning of conjugated polymer light-emitting nanofibers

open access: yes, 2013
The authors report on the realization of ordered arrays of light-emitting conjugated polymer nanofibers by near-field electrospinning. The fibers, made by poly[2-methoxy-5-(2-ethylhexyloxy)-1,4-phenylenevinylene], have diameters of few hundreds of ...

Cis‐regulatory and long noncoding RNA alterations in breast cancer – current insights, biomarker utility, and the critical need for functional validation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The noncoding region of the genome plays a key role in regulating gene expression, and mutations within these regions are capable of altering it. Researchers have identified multiple functional noncoding mutations associated with increased cancer risk in the genome of breast cancer patients.

MSTIDs impact on GNSS observations and its mitigation in rapid static positioning at medium baselines

open access: yesAnnals of Geophysics, 2016
Total electron content (TEC) fluctuation in the ionosphere is one of the main unresolved problems degrading ambiguity resolution and thus affect the reliability of satellite positioning.

Adsorption studies of DNA origami on silicon dioxide [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Self-assembled DNA nanostructures promise low-cost ways to create nanoscale shapes. DNA nanostructures can also be used to position particles with nanometer precision.

Precise Positions of Methanol Masers [PDF]

open access: yesPublications of the Astronomical Society of Australia, 2009
AbstractThe Australia Telescope Compact Array (ATCA) has been used to determine positions for many southern methanol maser sites, with accuracy better than 1 arcsec. The results are presented here as a catalogue of more than 350 distinct sites, some of them new discoveries, and many others with positional precision 10-times better than existing ...

Methylation biomarkers can distinguish pleural mesothelioma from healthy pleura and other pleural pathologies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We developed and validated a DNA methylation–based biomarker panel to distinguish pleural mesothelioma from other pleural conditions. Using the IMPRESS technology, we translated this panel into a clinically applicable assay. The resulting two classifier models demonstrated excellent performance, achieving high AUC values and strong diagnostic accuracy.

Improved Controller for a Three-Axis Piezoelectric Stage [PDF]

open access: yes
An improved closed-loop controller has been built for a three-axis piezoelectric positioning stage. The stage can be any of a number of commercially available or custom-made units that are used for precise three-axis positioning of optics in astronomical
