Precision instrument oils

Journal of Synthetic Lubrication: Research, Development and Application of Synthetic Lubricants and Functional Fluids, 1987
AbstractPrecision instrument mechanisms require highly specialized oils. These stringent requirements limit the choice of lubricants to synthetic types only. In this paper the physico‐chemical and peformance characteristics of a watch oil developed by the authors have been discussed to show how it meets the basic requirements of watch oils, and ...

The Precise Repositioning Instrument for Genioplasty

Journal of Craniofacial Surgery, 2015
To improve the surgical precision of genioplasty, the authors develop and validate the precise repositioning instrument for genioplasty, which can guide the precise repositioning of chin bone segment truncated during genioplasty. The patent application for the precise repositioning instrument for genioplasty is already submitted (Patent No ...

Clinical precision of paralleling instruments

European Journal of Oral Sciences, 1989
Abstract – A method for measuring pin‐ or pinhole‐deviation was developed and tested on nine consecutive bridge cases with parallel pin retention, in order to assess paralleling precision of guiding instruments used clinically. Measurements were performed on rubber base impressions including pinholes, involving the use of a stereomicroscope.

A new instrument for precision cytophotometry

Journal of Scientific Instruments, 1966
A new instrument has been designed for the microspectrophotometric measurement of absorbing substances in individual biological cells. The object was to produce an instrument capable of the highest possible precision of measurement. It has been demonstrated that a coefficient of variation of less than 1% is possible.

Estimating Precision of Textile Instruments

Biometrics, 1951
ONE OF THE MOST consistently difficult problems in the textile industry is the measurement of moisture for the assessment of value of material bought or sold on a dry basis. Complete solution of this problem involves a more complete knowledge of the relation of the water and textile fiber than is available.

INSTRUMENTS OF PRECISION—AND EXPENDITURE

JAMA: The Journal of the American Medical Association, 1933
To the Editor: —In the diagnosis of disease the physician relies on a number of scientific factors. Most important of these are (a) the past history of the patient, (b) his present history, (c) his symptoms and (d) the signs. These are of increasing scientific importance in the order given.

Precision Implants and Instrumentation

1986
The AO/ ASIF group developed the principles of internal fixation advanced by Lambotte and Danis that ultimately revolutionized internal fixation of the skeleton. Their choices of design, metals, and methods of application are based upon sound engineering and biomechanical principles, physical laws, and metallurgical biocompatibility, and much of the ...

A Precision Sectioning Instrument for Microfossils

Micropaleontology, 1958
The design, construction and use of a precision grinder for foraminifera and other small fossils are described. The electric micro-grinder, with its mechanical specimen feed and automatic cooling system, rests on the microscope stage, permitting one to watch the progress of the operation continually and to control it with great accuracy.
