Precision measurement of relativistic and QED effects in heliumlike beryllium

Physical Review Letters, 1993
We have used fast-ion-beam laser spectroscopy to measure the 1s2s 3 S-1s2p 3 P o intervals in Be III to an absolute accuracy of 1 part in 10 8 . Our results are (in cm -1 ): σ(1s2s 3 S 1 -1s2p 3 P 0 o )= 26 864.6120(4), σ(1s2s 3 S 1 -1s2p 3 P 1 o )=26 853.0534(3), σ(1s2s 3 S 1 -1s2p 3 P 2 o ) =26 867.9484(3).

Precision tests of QED

AIP Conference Proceedings, 1984
The major precision tests of QED are reviewed. At the present time, there are no serious conflicts between theory and experiment. However, there are various possibilities for refining the tests and some of them depend on better information from high energy physics experiments.

Precision measurements of relativistic and QED effects in helium-like boron

Physical Review Letters, 1991
We have made precision wavelength measurements on the 1s2s $^{3}$${\mathit{S}}_{1}$--1s2p $^{3}$${\mathit{P}}_{0,1,2}$\ifmmode^\circ\else\textdegree\fi{} transitions in heliumlike boron using fast-beam laser excitation. These measurements are accurate to 2 parts in ${10}^{7}$ of the transition energy and test the most recent calculations at a level of ...
