Increasing the precision for Z production at colliders: mixed QCD-QED effects [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of European Physical Society Conference on High Energy Physics — PoS(EPS-HEP2019), 2020
In this talk, we describe the recent progress on the inclusion of mixed QCD-QED corrections for collider observables. In particular, we developed a formalism to extend $q_T$-resummation to deal with simultaneous emission of gluons and photons. We applied it to $Z$ production at colliders, and briefly discuss extensions to more complicated final states.

Unveiling atomic electron motion effects in e + e − high energy collisions at NA64

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics
Atomic electron motion is responsible for well-studied effects observed in low-energy (MeV-scale) processes. Recently, interest in this phenomenon has also emerged within the high-energy physics community, due to its potential to increase significantly ...

QED self-energy contribution to highly-excited atomic states [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
We present numerical values for the self-energy shifts predicted by QED (Quantum Electrodynamics) for hydrogenlike ions (nuclear charge $60 \le Z \le 110$) with an electron in an $n=3$, 4 or 5 level with high angular momentum ($5/2\le j \le 9/2 ...

Volumetric analysis of root coverage with porcine acellular dermal matrix: Case study

open access: yesClinical Advances in Periodontics, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Gingival recession is prevalent and often treated with coronally advanced flap plus connective tissue graft (CAF+CTG). Porcine acellular dermal matrix (PADM) offers a donor‐site‐free alternative. Contemporary digital imaging allows minimally invasive, three‐dimensional (3D) soft‐tissue assessment. This case report quantified 3D soft‐

Two-loop master integrals for heavy-to-light form factors of two different massive fermions

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2018
We calculate the full set of the two-loop master integrals for heavy-to-light form factors of two different massive fermions for arbitrary momentum transfer in NNLO QCD or QED corrections.

The Virial Expansion of the Hydrogen Equation of State in Comparison to PIMC Simulations: The Quasiparticle Concept, IPD, and Ionization Degree

open access: yesContributions to Plasma Physics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The properties of plasmas in the low‐density limit are described by virial expansions. Analytical expressions are known for the lowest virial coefficients from Green's function approaches. Recently, accurate path‐integral Monte Carlo (PIMC) simulations were performed for the hydrogen plasma at low densities by Filinov and Bonitz (Phys. Rev.

Electron and photon structure functions at two loops

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics
We present a fully analytic computation of the complete electron and photon structure functions, or QED lepton parton distribution functions (PDFs) up to two-loop order.

Static and Dynamic Analysis of Porous Gas Bearings Lubricated With Air, Refrigerant R‐134a, Helium and Hydrogen

open access: yesLubrication Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Porous gas bearings (PGBs) enable high‐speed, oil‐free operation in modern rotating machinery. This study develops a coupled thermo‐hydrodynamic (THD) model for a cylindrical porous gas bearing lubricated with four working fluids—air, R‐134a, helium and hydrogen.

Entanglement and Bell nonlocality in τ + τ − at the BEPC

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics
Quantum entanglement and Bell nonlocality are two phenomena that occur only in quantum systems. In both cases, these are correlations between two subsystems that are classically absent.

Chemical Shift Separated and Compensated Ultra‐Short Echo‐Time Imaging

open access: yesMagnetic Resonance in Medicine, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Purpose To develop a modified binomial excitation scheme for ultra‐short echo‐time (UTE) imaging that allows for the separation of water and fat signals and the correction of chemical shift artifacts. Methods Theoretical derivation and numerical Bloch simulations were performed for a modified water‐excitation binomial pulse scheme to calculate
