A hybrid‐nested microneedle/cryogel scaffold (MQW‐CMg‐MOF) is designed for efficient biofilm removal and accelerated healing of diabetic wounds. The scaffold shows substantial biofilm removal in vitro and in a preclinical diabetic swine biofilm‐infected wound model compared to the control.

Xeno-learning: knowledge transfer across species in deep learning-based spectral image analysis [PDF]
Novel optical imaging techniques, such as hyperspectral imaging (HSI) combined with machine learning-based (ML) analysis, have the potential to revolutionize clinical surgical imaging. However, these novel modalities face a shortage of large-scale, representative clinical data for training ML algorithms, while preclinical animal data is abundantly ...

Intraoral Drug Delivery: Bridging the Gap Between Academic Research and Industrial Innovations
Intraoral drug delivery offers a promising route for systemic and localized therapies, yet challenges such as enzymatic degradation, limited permeability, and microbial interactions hinder efficacy. This figure highlights innovative strategies—mucoadhesive materials, enzyme inhibitors, and permeation enhancers—to overcome these barriers.

A hydrogel for intra‐articular injection for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is formulated and comprehensively studied. After administration, the hydrogel induces a metabolic reprogramming of immunometabolism of macrophages to trigger fatty acid oxidation subsequently inducing polarization of anti‐inflammatory M2 macrophages. This results in

Considerations and recommendations from the ISMRM Diffusion Study Group for preclinical diffusion MRI: Part 3 -- Ex vivo imaging: data processing, comparisons with microscopy, and tractography [PDF]
Preclinical diffusion MRI (dMRI) has proven value in methods development and validation, characterizing the biological basis of diffusion phenomena, and comparative anatomy. While dMRI enables in vivo non-invasive characterization of tissue, ex vivo dMRI is increasingly being used to probe tissue microstructure and brain connectivity.

High‐Throughput Microfluidic‐Mediated Assembly of Layer‐By‐Layer Nanoparticles
The layer‐by‐layer (LbL) assembly of polymer films on nanoparticle (NP) surfaces is a promising technique for targeted drug delivery. Despite its success in preclinical mouse models, a current good manufacturing practices (cGMP) compliant, clinical‐scale production method has been lacking.
