Comparison of Methods for Determining Precompression Stress Based on Computational Simulation [PDF]
There are many methods for determining precompression stress (σp), whose value is affected by the slope of the soil compression curve. This study was designed to evaluate the hypothesis that for a certain compression curve all methods used to determine ...

Abstract State‐of‐the‐art models for soil compaction express soil strength by the so‐called precompression stress. The idea is to avoid stresses higher than those previously exposed to the soil. However, the quantification of soil precompression stress generally implies a problematic logarithmic transformation of the applied stress ...

Precompression stress and compression index depend on the property used to represent the soil deformation in the compression curve [PDF]
: During linear deformation (h) in a soil sample, the variation of the void ratio with respect to deformation (dε/dh) and the respective variation of soil bulk density (dρ/dh) are identical only for a specific value of h. Consequently, if two compression

CA–MQL grinding of zirconia engineering ceramics under precompressive stress
Abstract Engineering ceramics are widely used in aerospace, 3C electronics, life sciences and other fields. However, the hard brittleness of engineering ceramics makes it difficult to process, prone to damage during processing, and difficult to balance processing efficiency and quality.
