An approach for the determination of the preconsolidation pressure in sensitive clays
Canadian Geotechnical Journal, 1980The present methods for the determination of the preconsolidation pressure of clays are time consuming and expensive. A new method is proposed in which the clay is loaded in a "one-stage loading" to an axial stress in excess of the estimated preconsolidation pressure.

Preconsolidation of Søvind Marl—A Highly Fissured Eocene Clay
Geotechnical Testing Journal, 2015Abstract Determination of the preconsolidation stresses is a key tool in geotechnical engineering used to evaluate and estimate the behavior of soils. However, it has proven difficult to accurately estimate these stresses in highly fissured, overconsolidated clays, due to the influence of the fissured structure.

soilphysics: An R package to determine soil preconsolidation pressure
Computers & Geosciences, 2015Preconsolidation pressure is a parameter obtained from the soil compression curve and has been used as an indicator of load-bearing capacity of soil, as well as to characterize the impacts suffered by the use of machines. Despite its importance in soil physics, there is a few software or computational routines to support its determination.

Flow and shear descriptors of preconsolidated food powders
Journal of Food Engineering, 2006This study proposes a friction based index to characterize food powder strength during flow and shear. It is shown that the peak strength of powders observed in direct shear tests consists of interlocking and intrinsic value of friction between particles. These components were determined separately using the energy input and dissipation characteristics

Log-Log Method for Determination of Preconsolidation Pressure
Geotechnical Testing Journal, 1989Abstract A new method called the “log-log method” has been proposed for a more accurate determination of preconsolidation pressure. The method consists of plotting both the pressure p and corresponding void ratio e in logarithmic scale. The log e - log p plots result in two distinct straight lines.
