On a predator–prey system of Gause type

Journal of Mathematical Biology, 2009
In this paper a Gause type model of interactions between predator and prey population is considered. We deal with the sufficient condition due to Kuang and Freedman in the generalized form including a kind of weight function. In a previous paper we proved that the existence of such weight function implies the uniqueness of limit cycle.

PREDATOR-PREY SYSTEMS IN PEST MANAGEMENT

1990
The use of chemical pesticides frequently causes minor pests to become serious problems by disturbing the natural controls that keep them in check. As a result, it is possible to suffer heavier crop losses after pesticides are introduced than before their introduction.

Competitive Predator-Prey Systems and Coexistence

1983
When two predator populations compete exploitatively for the same prey population, one possible outcome is the extinction of both predator populations owing to their inability to predate successfully. Another possible outcome is the extinction of one of the predator populations due to its being out-competed by the other which remains to survive in some

The evolution of predator-prey systems

1984
Ecological systems per se do not evolve; their constituent species’ populations evolve. The effects of evolution upon the dynamics of predatory systems must, therefore, be sought in the selective forces operating separately upon the predator and prey.
