SCARED TO DEATH? THE EFFECTS OF INTIMIDATION AND CONSUMPTION IN PREDATOR–PREY INTERACTIONS
Ecology, 2005Predation is a central feature of ecological communities. Most theoretical and empirical studies of predation focus on the consequences of predators consuming their prey.

Stability and Hopf Bifurcation of a Delayed Prey-Predator Model with Disease in the Predator
International Journal of Bifurcation and Chaos in Applied Sciences and Engineering, 2019Dealing with the epidemiological prey–predator is very important for us to understand the dynamical characteristics of population models. The existing literature has shown that disease introduction into the predator group can destabilize the established ...

Predating predators requires at least three specimen to which we refer as players 1, 2, and 3. Player 1 has simply to guess nature when trying to find food. Player 2 is hunting player 1 in the hope that 1 is well-fed but must also avoid being hunted by player 3.

Modeling the fear effect on a stochastic prey–predator system with additional food for the predator
Journal of Physics A: Mathematical and Theoretical, 2018In the present work we have studied a prey–predator model with logistic growth of the prey in the absence of the predator. We have also considered the fear effect and have investigated the impact of fear of the predator on prey when the predator is ...

The dynamics of arthropod predator-prey systems.
Monographs in population biology, 1979In this study of arthropod predador-prey systems Michael Hassell shows how many of the components of predation may be simply modeled in order to reveal their effects on the overall dynamics of the interacting populations. Arthropods, particularly insects,

Prey, predator and super-predator model with disease in the super-predator
Applied Mathematics and Computation, 2017Abstract The dynamics of a predator–prey model with disease in super-predator are investigated. The predator is under immense competition from the super-predator and is also facing extinction. The disease is considered as biological control to allow the predator population to regain from a low number.

We contrast the relationship between predation and the savings of its potential victim in two different simple models. In the first model, predation is an exogenous event in which savings are expropriated with some fixed probability. In such a setting, the higher the probability of expropriation the lower are savings.

Predation and Predator Management *
2019Predation has shaped many facets of the ecology of plovers, including their life history traits, behaviors, and demography. Moreover, conservation often emphasizes managing predators to increase population size. I reviewed literature addressing impacts of predation on survivorship and reproductive success of plovers, as well as four management ...
