Predictability modulates pronunciation variants through speech planning effects: A case study on coronal stop realizations

open access: yesLaboratory Phonology, 2020
Predictability has been shown to be associated with many dimensions of variation in speech, including durational variation and variable omission of segments. However, the mechanism or mechanisms that underlie these effects are still unclear.

PREDICTED DIFFERENCES AND DIFFERENCES BETWEEN PREDICTIONS [PDF]

open access: yesETS Research Bulletin Series, 1950
ABSTRACTWhen K tests are given to N individuals, and for each individual there are available two criterion measures, then (1) the multiple regression weight to be applied to the standard score for each test to predict the criterion‐difference score is equal to the difference of the weights for predicting each criterion separately; (2) the difference ...

Hydrogen‐Bond–Driven Ion Retention in Electrolyte‐Gated Synaptic Transistors

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Anion molecular design governs ion–polymer interactions in electrolyte‐gated synaptic transistors. Asymmetric anions induce hydrogen‐bond interactions that suppress ion back‐diffusion and stabilize doping, enabling enhanced nonvolatile synaptic properties.

Habituation in Predictability-Modulations of Stimulus-Response Binding

open access: yesJournal of Cognition
Acting intentionally requires the integration of perceptual with action information in a common representational format. In the action control literature, this integrated representation is often called event file and is measured in so-called stimulus ...

Backbone‐Controlled Ion‐Side Chain Accessibility in Conjugated Polymers for Organic Electrochemical Synaptic Transistors

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Backbone modulation in glycolated conjugated polymers governs ion accessibility to side chains, strengthes anion adsorption, and suppresses back‐diffusion. As the number of thiophene units increases, structural reorganization, retention, and synaptic plasticity are enhanced, leading to improved neuromorphic performance in electrolyte‐gated organic ...
