An adaptive predicted percentage dissatisfied model based on the air-conditioner turning-on behaviors in the residential buildings of China

Building and Environment, 2021
Abstract To ease the Predicted Percentage of Dissatisfied (PPD) measurement and calculation and consider the adaptive behaviors of residents, the present research proposed an adaptive thermal discomfort evaluation model: Air-conditioner based Adaptive Predicted Percentage of Dissatisfied (aaPPD).

A method for predicting the Actual Percentage of Dissatisfied (APD) through a simple proposition of thermal comfort zones in a working environment

Work, 2020
BACKGROUND: Over the last few decades, there has been a concern to improve the quality of indoor work environments and increase energy efficiency as people spend much of their time in such settings. OBJECTIVE: This study analyzed a group of women developing sedentary activities to determine the Actual Percentage of Dissatisfied (APD) in the environment,

Predicted percentage of dissatisfied and air age relationship in ventilation systems: Application to a laboratory

HVAC&R Research, 2013
The purpose of this study is to analyze how to minimize the relation between the airflow rate and the Predicted Percentage of Dissatisfied (PPD) in order to establish the minimum PPD of a room depending on the type and rate of production of pollutants. As a consequence, the age of air that minimizes the PPD under such conditions is obtained.

Dynamic Predicted Mean Vote/Predicted Percentage of Dissatisfied Prediction Using Lagrangian-Driven Deep Clustering and Reinforcement Learning for HVAC Energy Optimization

ASME Journal of Engineering for Sustainable Buildings and Cities
Abstract Forecasting indoor thermal comfort is crucial for optimizing HVAC energy, with Fanger's predicted mean vote (PMV) formula serving as the gold standard for evaluating thermal sensation, despite its nonlinear complexity. Traditional Lagrange interpolation fails to accurately fit PMV across its broad input range, thereby limiting ...

The Indices of Feeling—Predicted Mean Vote PMV and Percentage People Dissatisfied PPD

2015
The study of the energy exchange between human body and environment (Human Body heat exchange) does not allow you to evaluate the view that people have with respect to comfort. Comfort can be expressed with indices and temperature sensation. This chapter describes the various indexes, in particular the Predicted Mean Vote and the related measurement ...
