BACKGROUND: Over the last few decades, there has been a concern to improve the quality of indoor work environments and increase energy efficiency as people spend much of their time in such settings. OBJECTIVE: This study analyzed a group of women developing sedentary activities to determine the Actual Percentage of Dissatisfied (APD) in the environment,

The purpose of this study is to analyze how to minimize the relation between the airflow rate and the Predicted Percentage of Dissatisfied (PPD) in order to establish the minimum PPD of a room depending on the type and rate of production of pollutants. As a consequence, the age of air that minimizes the PPD under such conditions is obtained.

Abstract Forecasting indoor thermal comfort is crucial for optimizing HVAC energy, with Fanger's predicted mean vote (PMV) formula serving as the gold standard for evaluating thermal sensation, despite its nonlinear complexity. Traditional Lagrange interpolation fails to accurately fit PMV across its broad input range, thereby limiting ...

The Indices of Feeling—Predicted Mean Vote PMV and Percentage People Dissatisfied PPD
2015The study of the energy exchange between human body and environment (Human Body heat exchange) does not allow you to evaluate the view that people have with respect to comfort. Comfort can be expressed with indices and temperature sensation. This chapter describes the various indexes, in particular the Predicted Mean Vote and the related measurement ...
