Philippine Journal of Cardiology, 2019
Like in most disciplines in Medicine, the value of predicting the occurrence of a disease or event is an important realm in the field of Cardiology that repeatedly invites numerous clinical investigations. This has given rise to numerous scoring schemes, probability indices and prediction tools that enable the clinician to expect a complication or ...

Missing values prediction with K2
Intelligent Data Analysis, 2002Dealing with missing values is one important task in data mining. There are many ways to work with this kind of data, but the literature doesn't determine the best one to all kinds of data set. The aim of this work is to show the application of a bayesian algorithm (K2) in data mining problems as a data preparation and classification tool.

Predictive value of airway reactivity
Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology, 1990DISCUSSION Question. We have all had patients with severe allergic rhinitis and mild asthma, and we have brought their allergic rhinitis under control with an antihistamine or a topical steroid or topical cromolyn. The asthma also seems to become much better; in fact, it will sometimes resolve clinically.

Predictive Value of Blood Cultures
Infection Control & Hospital Epidemiology, 1992The rising incidence of immunocompromised-patient infections caused by bacteria that are normally nonvirulent and indigenous to normal flora has focused attention on the contamination rate of blood cultures. This contamination is usually a consequence of the mode of collection or processing within the laboratory.

Predictive value of neuropathic traits
Acta Psychiatrica Scandinavica, 1977The classic textbook concepts of neuropathic traits ‐ enuresis, nail‐biting, finger‐sucking, sleep‐walking, anxiety, nightmares, fear of darkness ‐ have been anamnestically recorded in patients in a somatic hospital who were referred for psychiatric interview.

Predictive Coding of Integers with Real-Valued Predictions
2013 Data Compression Conference, 2013In this paper, we have extended the Rice-Golomb code so that it can operate at fractional precision to efficiently exploit the real-valued predictions. Coding at infinitesimal precision allows the residuals to be modeled with the Lap lace distribution.
