Bank geographic deregulation, new credit accounts, and consumer credit

open access: yesJournal of Financial Research, EarlyView.
Abstract The bank deregulation literature documents positive effects of intrastate branching—allowing expansion of bank‐branch network within a state—on real economic outcomes such as income growth, income insurance, income inequality, and homeownership.

MAFLD/MASLD: Past, Present, and Future

open access: yesJournal of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Metabolic dysfunction‐associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD), also known as nonalcoholic fatty liver disease and metabolic dysfunction‐associated fatty liver disease, affects more than 30% of the global adult population and has become one of the leading causes of cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma.

PtoHY5 integrates photoperiodic signals with the ABA pathway to coordinate growth cessation and dormancy in Populus

open access: yesJournal of Integrative Plant Biology, EarlyView.
In Populus, short days deactivate the growth‐promoting protein PtoHY5, turning off a growth accelerator and activating an abscisic acid‐driven brake. This directly couples growth cessation with dormancy, underscoring the role of abscisic acid in synchronizing these transitions for winter survival.

Metamorphic or Igneous Zircon? Classification Through Rare Earth Elements, Machine Learning and Logistic Regression

open access: yesJournal of Metamorphic Geology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Zircon is a common, highly refractory accessory mineral found in sedimentary, igneous and metamorphic rocks that forms through various processes (e.g., magmatic, hydrothermal, metamorphic growth and recrystallization). Trace element compositions of detrital zircon have been widely applied to understanding tectonic processes and continental ...

Comparison of different X‐ray‐based scanning electron microscopy methods to detect sub‐nanometre ultra‐thin InAs layers deposited on top of GaAs

open access: yesJournal of Microscopy, EarlyView.
Abstract We compare three different methods of X‐ray analysis in a scanning electron microscope (SEM): energy‐dispersive X‐ray spectroscopy (EDX), wavelength‐dispersive X‐ray spectroscopy (WDX) and micro X‐ray fluorescence (μXRF). These methods are all applied to the same gallium arsenide (GaAs) wafer with a 0.8 nm layer of indium arsenide (InAs) on ...
