Reference‐Guided Chromosome‐by‐Chromosome de novo Assembly at Scale Using Low‐Coverage High‐Fidelity Long‐Reads with HiFiCCL

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
HiFiCCL, as the first assembly framework specifically designed for low‐coverage high‐fidelity reads, improves the assembly quality of existing assemblers and also enhances downstream applications such as large structural variant (SV) detection (>10 000 bp), synteny analysis, pangenome graph construction, and graph‐based individual‐specific germline SVs

GbWAKL20 Phosphorylates GbNFYB8 to Modulate Verticillium Wilt Resistance in Cotton

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Wall‐associated receptor‐like kinases (WAKLs) play pivotal roles in extracellular–intracellular signal transduction. Upon sensing Verticillium dahliae infestation at the plasma membrane, GbWAKL20 accumulates and transmits signals to the nucleus via endoplasmic reticulum‐mediated Golgi vesicle transport.

Imperfection in Semiconductors Leading to High Performance Devices

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Crystalline perfection is typically pursued in semiconductors to enhance device performance. However, through modeling and experimental work, we show that defects can be strategically employed in a specific detection regime to increase sensitivity to extreme values. GaN diodes are demonstrated to effectively detect high‐energy proton beams at fluxes as

Efficient Solution of Language Equations Using Partitioned Representations [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
A class of discrete event synthesis problems can be reduced to solving language equations f . X ⊆ S, where F is the fixed component and S the specification.

Boron Nitride Nanomaterials Trigger Immunomodulatory Effects in Human Broncho‐Epithelial Cells by Modulating Eicosanoid Lipid Signaling

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates that BNNT exposure disrupts lipid homeostasis in bronchial epithelial cell cultures and activates eicosanoid lipid biosynthesis, producing inflammatory lipid mediators like leukotrienes. These effects are more pronounced in asthmatic cell cultures compared to healthy ones.

Scalable BGP Prefix Selection for Effective Inter-domain Traffic Engineering

open access: yes, 2015
Inter-domain Traffic Engineering for multi-homed networks faces a scalability challenge, as the size of BGP routing table continue to grow. In this context, the choice of the best path must be made potentially for each destination prefix, requiring all ...

Cryo‐EM Structures Reveal the Molecular Basis of Asymmetric Allosteric Activation by MMOB in the Hydroxylase of Soluble Methane Monooxygenase

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Cryo‐EM analysis reveals an asymmetric MMOH–MMOB complex with distinct protomers, where MMOB binding triggers structural rearrangements from the surface to the active site. This conformational asymmetry shortens the Fe···Fe distance to 2.7 Å in one protomer, forming a geometry suitable for O2 activation and supporting a sequential catalytic mechanism ...
