Scalable Computation of Topological Abstractions for Scalar Data

open access: yesComputer Graphics Forum, EarlyView.
Abstract Topological data analysis has become an important tool for large scale scalar data analysis and visualization, efficiently extracting the inherent structure and features of interest of the data. However, with growing dataset sizes and complexity, it is increasingly becoming infeasible to compute topological abstractions of interest in serial ...

Other-Cell Interference Reducing Resource Allocation in OFDM-Based Asynchronous Cellular Systems

open access: yesEURASIP Journal on Wireless Communications and Networking, 2008
Orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) is considered as one of the most promising techniques for next-generation wireless access systems. However, it may suffer from the so-called other-cell interference (OCI) in cellular environments. In this

On the synchronizing properties of certain prefix codes

open access: yesInformation and Control, 1964
A special family J of prefix codes is considered. It is verified that if A ε J has not a certain synchronizing property, then A = Cp (p > 1), where C is another code from the same family.

Survey on Visualization of Information Diffusion over Networks

open access: yesComputer Graphics Forum, EarlyView.
Abstract Information Diffusion (ID) describes how a value (e.g., a pathogen, a rumor, a packet) spreads through an underlying “medium” network of elements (e.g., a social or computer network). Understanding the information diffusion process is essential to predicting trends, controlling misinformation, and enhancing decision‐making as well as ...

CuRast: Cuda‐Based Software Rasterization for Billions of Triangles

open access: yesComputer Graphics Forum, EarlyView.
Abstract This paper presents a CUDA‐based software rasterizer capable of rendering up to a billion unique triangles, or up to 4 billion instanced triangles, in real time at 60 fps on an RTX 5090. By specifically targeting dense, opaque meshes, our approach is able to outperform the native GPU rasterization pipeline in these scenarios.

Fast, parallel, and cache-friendly suffix array construction

open access: yesAlgorithms for Molecular Biology
Purpose String indexes such as the suffix array (sa) and the closely related longest common prefix (lcp) array are fundamental objects in bioinformatics and have a wide variety of applications.

A combinatorial property of finite prefix codes

open access: yesInformation and Control, 1978
A necessary and sufficient condition is given under which a finite prefix code A (A ⊆ X*) is maximal. This condition, which does not hold in general for infinite rational prefix codes, is derived from a main theorem obtained by means of a combinatorial method consisting of the construction for any prefix code and word f ε X* of a suitable sequence of ...

The E‐cadherin‐Wnt‐mir‐994 Axis Repurposes a Cadherin Switch for Niche Robustness and Germline Stem Cell Maintenance

open access: yesCell Proliferation, EarlyView.
In the Drosophila ovarian niche, an E‐cadherin‐to‐N‐cadherin switch, mediated by Wnt‐mir‐994 signalling, is repurposed to ensure niche resilience. This compensatory mechanism maintains niche integrity and stem cell support upon E‐cadherin loss, revealing a robustness circuit.

How Does Mandated Non‐Financial Disclosure Affect Corporate Cash Holdings? Evidence From the CSR Disclosure Mandate in China

open access: yesEconomics &Politics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We examine whether and how mandatory non‐financial disclosure affects corporate cash holdings. Using a panel data set of Chinese A‐share listed firms from 2005 to 2012 and exploiting the introduction of mandatory corporate social responsibility (CSR) disclosure for a subset of firms as a quasi‐natural experiment, we find that firms subject to ...

Annual Research Review: What processes are dysregulated among emotionally dysregulated youth? – a systematic review

open access: yesJournal of Child Psychology and Psychiatry, Volume 66, Issue 4, Page 516-546, April 2025.
Proliferation of the term “emotion dysregulation” in child psychopathology parallels the growing interest in processes that influence negative emotional reactivity. While it commonly refers to a clinical phenotype where intense anger leads to behavioral dyscontrol, the term implies etiology because anything that is dysregulated requires an impaired ...
