First notes on prefixation in Colonial Brazilian Portuguese from the 16th and 17th centuries

open access: yesDomínios de Lingu@gem
In the field of Portuguese historical morphology, works that focus on prefixal formatives is scarce, with those specific to suffixation being much more numerous.

On multiple prefixation in Bulgarian

open access: yesNordlyd: Tromsø University Working Papers on Language & Linguistics, 2005
In this paper, I discuss instances of multiple prefixation in Bul- garian in the context of the aspectual properties of the Bulgarian verbal system. Up to seven prefixes can stack on a single verbal root in Bulgarian.

Entropy and Prefixes

open access: yesThe Annals of Probability, 1992
Let \(A\) be a finite alphabet and let \(X=A^ N\) be the usual compact metrizable space of sequences \(x=x_ 1x_ 2\dots\) drawn from \(A\). Let \(\sigma\) denote the one-sided shift on \(X\). Any \(\sigma\)-invariant probability measure \(\mu\) on \(X\) defines a so-called symbolic process, also denoted by \(\mu\).

Prefix–suffix duplication

open access: yesJournal of Computer and System Sciences, 2014
We consider a bio-inspired formal operation on words called prefix-suffix duplication which consists in the duplication of a prefix or suffix of a given word. The class of languages defined by the iterated application of the prefix-suffix duplication to a word is considered.

Affinity‐Tuned Albumin Hitchhiking Extends the Bioorthogonal Capture Window in Pretargeting Radiotheranostics

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Pharmacokinetic engineering of clickable radioligands was achieved via albumin hitchhiking approach within a pretargeted radiotheranostics delivery platform. This approach reduced rapid renal elimination, expanded bioorthogonal capture window, boosted tumor uptake by ∼3.5‐fold, and improved the tumor‐to‐liver ratio by ∼6‐fold.

Deconstructing Spanish prefixation

open access: yesGlossa
In this article, I argue that Spanish has three distinct classes of prefixes according to their grammatical category: relational, adjectival and quantifier prefixes.

Protein Disulfide Isomerase Disassembles TDP‐43/G3BP1 Condensates and Antagonizes TDP‐43 Pathological Aggregates

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Cytoplasmic aggregation of TDP‐43 is a common pathological feature in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, frontotemporal lobar degeneration, and Alzheimer's disease with TDP‐43 pathology. This study reports that wild‐type PDI slows down phase separation of TDP‐43 through direct interaction with TDP‐43.

PRODUCTIVITY OF TYPE IN THE DERIVATIONAL PARADIGM OF OLD ENGLISH STRONG VERBS

open access: yesRevista de Lingüística y Lenguas Aplicadas, 2011
This article aims at assessing the productivity of type of the derivational paradigms of Old English strong verbs, with which it contributes to the field of study of Old English word-formation. As a general conclusion, this analysis supports Hinderling’s

A Chirality‐Converted Bacteriolytic Dodecapeptide Regulates Vibrio‐Induced Polymicrobial Infection and Ameliorates Invasion‐Associated Gut Microbiota Disequilibrium

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Multidrug‐resistant Vibrio infections are rising rapidly and threaten coastal populations worldwide. This study introduces D‐zp37, a chirality‐engineered antimicrobial peptide with exceptional potency against resistant Vibrio species. D‐zp37 kills planktonic cells, blocks mixed‐species biofilms, disrupts essential bacterial stress responses, and shows ...

Intramolecular Interactions between Folded and Disordered Regions Shape Ubiquilin Structure and Function

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Ubiquilin (UBQLN), like many other human proteins, contains both well‐folded and disordered regions. Here, we show that intramolecular interactions between disordered regions and folded domains modulate between open and closed topologies of UBQLN proteins, altering their structure and function.
