Pregnancy-associated glycoproteins in cows with retained fetal membranes
Theriogenology, 2018In cows, retained fetal membranes (RFM) are a major problem in reproduction. The timely detachment of fetal membranes after parturition requires well coordinated maturation processes in the placenta. One feature of placental maturation in cows is a prepartal decline in the number of binucleate trophoblast giant cells (BNC) in the fetal chorion ...

Purification and characterization of a bovine pregnancy-associated glycoprotein.
Biology of reproduction, 1991A 67000 Mr bovine pregnancy-associated glycoprotein (bPAG) has been isolated from fetal cotyledons and purified to homogeneity by HPLC. The purification was monitored by a double immunodiffusion test and by RIA in conjunction with an antiserum raised against a crude fraction of placenta-specific antigens.

Carbohydrate-binding profile of a pregnancy-associated rat uterine glycoprotein
Molecular and Cellular Biochemistry, 1994Sugar-binding proteins obtained from the peri-implantation uterine tissue have been thought in recent years to have significant roles in embryo implantation, where carbohydrate moieties of the protein are actively involved. Based on this rationale a mannose-containing glycoprotein/lectin (named uterine agglutinin or UA) was purified by Concanavalin A ...

Serum Pregnancy‐Associated α2‐Glycoprotein Levels in Autoimmune Diseases
Vox Sanguinis, 1978Abstract. Serum pregnancy‐associated α2‐glycoprotein (α2‐PAG) levels have been measured in patients with a variety of proven non‐organ specific and organ‐specific autoimmune diseases and in age and sex‐matched hospital outpatient and inpatient controls.

PREGNANCY-ASSOCIATED α-GLYCOPROTEIN, ORAL CONTRACEPTIVES, AND RHEUMATOID ARTHRITIS
The Lancet, 1983Vandenbroucke et al. have confirmed in a case-control study of patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and patients with soft tissue rheumatism or osteoarthritis the findings of Wingrave and Kay that the incidence of RA is reduced in users of oral contraceptives (OCs). Dr. Vandenbroucke (May 7 p.1046) suggested further that the protective effect of OC

Pregnancy-associated a2-glycoprotein in rheumatoid arthritis.
International archives of allergy and applied immunology, 1979Pregnancy-associated alpha2-glycoprotein (PAG) was found to be increased in sera and synovial fluids of patients suffering from rheumatoid arthritis tested in the single radial immunodiffusion. The PAG levels in rheumatoid sera correlated well with the activity of arthritis in the patients.

Pregnancy outcomes based on milk pregnancy-associated glycoprotein levels
American Association of Bovine Practitioners Conference Proceedings, 2015Timely diagnosis of pregnancy and pregnancy losses is economically important. A commercially available pregnancy-associated glycoprotein (PAG) milk assay (IDEXX Laboratories, Inc.) is offered through routine Dairy Herd Improvement (DHI) testing for diagnosis of pregnancy.

Detection, characterization and diagnostic significance of human pregnancy-associated glycoproteins
Blut Zeitschrift für die Gesamte Blutforschung, 197327 sera from normal male donors an equal number from female donors and 10 sera of women taking oral contraceptives (OC) were compared with 38 sera of pregnant women in the second half of pregnancy to determine t he incidence of pregnancy-associated glycoproteins (SP SP and SP ). SP was present in elevated amounts only in pregnancy sera. SP and

Pregnancy-Associated Glycoprotein (PAG) family: transcripts and gene amplicons in camelids
Reproductive Biology, 2009In this study, the placental localization of PAG-like transcripts and genomic existence of PAG-like amplicons in new-world (Lp, Lama pacos, alpaca) and old-world camelids (Cb, Camelus bactrianus, bactrian; Cd, Camelus dromedarius; dromedary) are reported for the first time.
